I didnt see him anywhere in the cafeteria. But since I had class with him after lunch, I decided I'll just ask him then.

Damn I didn't get the chance.

"Hey. I know, I've been MIA alot today,"

He came up to me and I didn't want him to think something was up so I just nodded and listened to what he had to say.

"So, can I take you home to make up for it?"

This was my chance. On the way home, I could get his side and take it form there.

"Sure. Just let me give Bennie my car keys."

I went back to the entrance of the school and saw Bennie.

"Here take my car keys. Marcus is going to take me home. I have something to do." And as I said that, I gave him a look. A look that said, "Don't worry about me. Just trust me on this." At first, he look confused, and then understanding. He took the keys, and told me "Later" as I turned around and walked to Marcus' car.

I didn't waste any time in doing what I had to do.

"So I was talking to Macey,"

Immediately, his face changed. The same stupid face he always has with anything involving Macey. And this really started to annoy me.

"Why do you always make that face when I talk about Macey? Or even when she's around?"

"What face?"

"That face! Looking like your dog died or something... She told me.. about.. you know."

EERRKK!

He slammed on the brakes. At first, I thought it was because of what I said. But when I moved up in the seat, I saw a cat running across the street.

"What did she tell you?"

Yep. It was because of what I said. He sounded different. Not angry, not sad, and definitely not happy. I can't even explain it.

"She told me that you guys went out," I explained to him as he pulled over. "She told me it was a secret, not even Riley knows. And that it started out fine but later down the line, you started to treat her very horrible."

"Did she tell you that my grandfather and mother died just after my parents finished a very angry divorce? Did she tell you that?!" Now he started to yell. As if he was trying to defend himself which caused me to start yelling also.

"LOOK! I understand what loosing someone feels like."I understood his lost of his mom and grandfather. Seeing that I lost my dad and Ben's mom a few years back. However, that was not going to give him a pass. "But that still doesn't excuse how you acted towards her! So don't think that will let you slide!"

"I know." He sounded like a kid who just got in trouble. "Look, I know what did was wrong and how I treated her was way unacceptable but I'm not that person anymore. That person who did drugs, and treated Macey like that, that Marcus was hurt and afraid and he acted like a stupid little bitch because of it. And I'm not proud of that person. But I started to go to rehab, and counseling, and I now Im clean, doing good in school, hey I'm even Student Body President! I been beating myself up for what I did to her, I've appoligized to her so many times but she never forgave me. Not that I blame her... But Samantha, you have to understand that I'm different now. I want you to know because I... I like you. Alot. I don't want you to think anything bad of me. Please, tell me you understand?"

By now, he was practically begging me to forgive him. And I actually wanted to. I mean, he did say that he went to counseling. And he IS the student body president, that shows improvement...

"I forgive you."
