Dear Diary,

We've been going out for 6 months now, and Marcus has been acting different. We hardly see each other anymore, except for when we're at school. And I think he's gonna get kicked off the teams. Bennie told me but he doesn't know why. I gotta find out. Oh, and my birthday is in exactly 2 weeks!!!! Ahhhhhhh!! I'm so excited! I'm turning 17!! Big party! Wait! I almost forgot! My mom finally got rid of that delinquent Mark. I'm gonna be a woman!!! Gotta get ready. Bennie said he had a surprise for me. He always does something new every year. I can't wait to see what he has planned for me this year.

I hopped out of the shower and wrapped myself with my teal towel as I did with my wet hair using a smaller towel. I tiptoed out on the soft carpet feeling it in between my toes, and plopped right on my bed. As I lay there I close my eyes, and brainstorm the many possible agendas for us today and eventually I gave up. I was laying there for a few more minutes listening to the music, until I popped up and dove right into the closet next to my TV Set . Probing my choices back and forth, I pull out a chestnut brown leather jacket, along with a celosia orange crop top and a pair of black jeans from the closet. I got dressed, and then went to the closet across the hall to get my knee-high brown boots. Now for my hair, I just pulled it up into a nice big bun. Did my make-up and tried to call Marcus. Went straight to voice mail. Called Bennie:

*It's ringing*

"You ready?" He asked as soon as he answered.

"Mhmm. But I didn't know how to dress seeing that I don't even know what we we're-"

"Just be outside. I'm on my way." He interrupted.

"Fine." I gave up for now and hung up.

A few minutes later, I heard a car pull into my drive way. Looking through my bedroom window I saw his car, grabbed my purse and my keys and left the house. I was the only person home because my mom was out with Mr.Walters I mean Lucas. Yeah, they're an 'item' now. I'm not even gonna front. He's a cool guy. I like him.

We started driving and we ended up at Barnie's. He said he had to pick up some food for his dad. We were waiting.

"I'm gonna go to the bathroom."

"Okay but don't take too long."

When I came out of the bathroom he wasn't there. I'm thinking he's probably waiting in the car but his car wasn't in the lot. Now I was getting worried but angry. "Where are you?!" I texted him. He texted back:

"For these two weeks I'll be dropping some clues about the birthday gift that I have for you. Start at the front of Barnie's, head to Pet Pet Play, and follow the arrows that'll lead you my way."

Now Im excited. I did what the text said and followed the arrows. There were arrows everywhere! Even people were giving me arrows! The arrows eventually stopped and I was at the bowling alley. I started to get excited. I opened the door and asked the manager for Bennie.

"Ben, never came here today. In fact, if you do see him, tell him I would prefer a brunet."

What does he mean Bennie never came here?! He said he had a surprise for me!!

"Hello?"

"Bennie, where are you?!"

"At home. Why?"

"Where's my surprise?! Why would you just leave me stranded here and-" He hung up on me. He hung up on mee!!! Him of all people should know, that I HATE when people hang up on me! I took a seat inside and tried to call somebody to pick me up. I called Riley, no answer. Danny, none. Macey and Jenn, nothing. Cyle and Cole, nada! I even called my mom and nothing!!
