"She wants to see you and Bennie." her mom called us when they came out of the room.

When we walked in her room, she was just laying there. A bunch of wires and medicine connected to her. She didn't look like regular, happy, energetic Jen. She looked like... my dad when he was fighting leukemia, her eyes were closed and she had a breathing tube in her nose; it was depressing. We walked in and sat at her bedside.

"Hey Jen, we're here."

"Hey." she sounded horrible. Her voice was all cracky and horse.

"How are you feeling?"

"I've been better." She cleared her throat. "But I would've been dead if it weren't for you two." she started coughing. "You guys saved my life. I can't thank you enough." She held onto our hands.

"Its really not a problem. We would do it again in a heartbeat." Bennie humbly answered her.

"You're like a sister to us. You're family, and we protect family." I looked up at Bennie. He kissed my head and held my hand. Then there was a knock and the door opened. It was Cole.

"I'm sorry I couldn't wait any longer." he kissed her forehead, held her hand and sat on the other side of her. "Baby don't scare me like that again. I thought I lost you. I didn't know what I was gonna do.." and basically that was our Q to leave. We told her we'd come back tomorrow, then left the hospital, and drove to his house.

"That was a lot today." dripping wet from the shower I took, I sat on his bed and laid back next to him just staring at the ceiling.

"I love you." He declared.

"I know."

"I don't know what I would do without you."

"I know."

"I'll protect you no matter what. Even if I have to pay for it with my life." I sat up and he looked at me.

"Don't talk like that. We are fine. Look at me. We are fine. We will be fine. I love you too. But baby please don't talk like that." he sat up and looked in my eyes.

"I know, I'm sorry." he pecked me on the lips. "But it's true." I slept even closer to him than usual this night. I always feel safe in his arms.
