Chapter three

BEWARE LONG CHAPTER!!

I woke up for the second time that day. I was laying on a couch with ponyboy and Johnny by  me. I looked around and saw two bit sitting by the tv, Darry in the kitchen, sodapop at the table, and Steve and dally in the corner talking.
"Hey she's up." Johnny said in a gentle voice.
"Where'd you come from" Steve asked.
"Why were they hurting you no one ever beats up girls you must've gotten em real mad man." Two bit said.
"You a greaser or a soc? You don't look like either." Soda added.
They all looked at my clothes. I was wearing leggings from pink and a white crop top which was now red with blood.
"what kind of clothes are those? I've never even anything like it before." Pony exclaimed.
"Definitely doesn't look like a greaser but why would the socs hurt their own kind?" Dally said.
Darry finally took control and said "Guys stop for a minute and let her speak."
"My....my whole body aches " I finally said with a moan.
"Ow my face."
I slid my finger down my face where the cut was trying to see how big it was and it had been as long as my pointer finger. There was no blood around it though. I could see they had done their best to clean me up and take care of me.
"Yeah those socs hurt you pretty bad" Steve said.
"Thank... thank you guys so much for everything." I said still very weak.
"I'll explain everything it just hurts when I talk" I whispered in excruciating pain
."Can I talk to just Johnny and tell him everything?" He was the only one not asking me so many questions so fast.
"How do you know his name?" Dally quickly said.
"It's a long story just please."
"Yeah it's fine dal. Man, lets go into pony and sodas room"
So I tried to walk with the assistance of Johnny Cade. I was so happy that he and dally were alive. Oh it was great, being able to touch him knowing he's real and not some fictional character. We went in and I sat on their bed.
"Look," I started. "This is going to sound insane but hear me out."
"I'm listening." Johnny said in his soothing voice.
"I woke up in the movie house with no idea how I got there. I thought it was a dream but it wasn't. I was walking down the street trying to find you guys actually when I ran into the socs. I showed a lotta attitude and kinda called them some names when they were talkin bad about you guys."
"Wh...why were you trying to find us and how did you know my name?" Johnny asked.
"This is going to sound crazy Johnny but well how do I put it. Your life is a book and movie. By S.E.Hinton. She made it in 1967 and the movie came out 1983. But I guess it wasn't really a movie. Just a well I don't know a look into your world."
"Wait slow down man, your saying I'm fictional? that's insane" Johnnycakes said with a shocked expression.
"Well I don't know Johnny maybe it's just different worlds and S.E.Hinton was a seer or somethin I don't know. I don't know how I got here. Or how this happened."
"Wait if you know read the "book" or watched the "movie" then say somethin to prove it"
"well er your parents are both drunks your mom ignores you if not she's screaming at you and your dad abuses you. Umm Darry has to work two jobs to pay the bills since the Curtis' parents died and soda dropped outta school cause he thought he was dumb he works at the dx. Um well pony he's different because he likes reading drawing watching movies and watching sunsets. dally got arrested at the age of ten. Two bits dad left him his sister and his mom. Stevens dad tells him to leave the house and never come back almost once a week but try's to get Steve to forgive him busy givin him five or six bucks the next day. and back to you you got that scar there from getting jumped by socs amd one had rings and they cut up your face."
Johnny gulped
"Sorry for bringing that up" I said ashamed because I knew I got him a little sad
"no it's fine I asked you to prove it to me and that's what you did."
"hey wait I don't even know your name"
"Oh yeah I'm Anne"
"Hi Anne nice to meet you but uh when you woke up how did you even know you were in Tulsa?"
"Well i obsess over the uhmm movie and book things all the time and I knew I recognized the movie house and other landmarks from the book/movie like the movie house and I passed the train tracks and now I'm here."
Johnny was obviously very curious and looked nervous so he said " You said 1967 and 1983 right now it's only 1965 what year were you from?"
" I was born 2001 and right now it's 2016 or in my world it is."
Johnny looked shocked. Well what else would he look like.
"I was looking for you to warn you because something terrible is going to happen to you and dally."
I could see the terror in his eyes already being abused and beat he didn't want somethin else to happen.
But surprisingly he said "Well I sure am fine with something happening to me."
Johnny said tearing up and talking faster the way he does when he gets stressed.
"No one cares about me. Not even my own parents. Well I minus well kill myself one day I'm sure of it."
Johnny added putting his hands to his head.
"Johnny stop right there. The gang cares about you so much and I know you just met me but I know you and I care about you so so much just stop Johnny it's okay. And your parents well they're too stupid and drunk. It's just the way they are. They're cruel and mean and they're too blind to see that their boy is smart and innocent and kind and brave and sensitive and understanding well Johnny I hate your parents."
At that point I put my hand on his shoulder and he jumped.
"I'm sorry it's just since those socs beat me up  I've been as jumpy as ever."
"It's fine. I know this sounds creepy but yeah I know about that it was er in the book. But Johnny I need to tell you what's gonna happen okay. Are you ready?"
He nodded.

"It starts when you go to the drive in with dally and  pony. You meet girls there named cherry and Marcia. You talk to them even though they're socs and you are kind enough to do that. Later that night their boyfriends come and are mad because you "tried to pick up their chicks" even though you didn't. It was mostly pony and two bit talking to them anyway. But they didn't "try to pick them up" either. Anyways they beat you up bad and try to drown pony in the fountain at the park. A few more seconds and he'd be dead so you try to save him by stabbing one of the socs with your switchblade to scare them off. You didn't mean to kill bob but you did. It was self defense but you did it to save pony and now you had to go in hiding. After a few days in hiding dally picks you and pony up. After making your mind that your gonna turn yourself in and say it was self defense you go back to the place you stayed to gather your stuff. A school was there for a picnic, and the church was on fire because of a cigarette you didn't put out good. There were still children in the burning church. Being the heroes you are you and pony went in to save them you saved all them and pony got out and you were going out to but a  burning board fell on you. After a day in the hospital you died Johnny you died Johnny I can't have that happen. I cried for so long. And after you died Dallas couldn't take it so he robbed a store and the fuzz surrounded and shot him dead. Johnny you gotta believe my with all this. This was just a short summary but it was horrible please Johnny believe me."

Johnnys eyes were big
"That was a lot" he said
"Man, this whole conversation was hard to believe and hard to take in." Johnny said wiping away a tear.
"But I trust you. I don't know why. I shouldn't but I do. How else would you be wearing those funky clothes and know my name and know about my parents, plus know all those things about the gang It's just gonna be hard for us to get the rest of the gang to believe you."
"Johnny I just wanted to say before we go back out there, that I think you're the kindest person alive and you've gone through too much already and I think it's terrible what your parents and the socs have done to you..... If you ever need someone to talk to..... I'm here"
I started heading for the door when Johnny grabbed my hand. "Thanks darlin" He said shyly.
"You understand me very much and I think you're amazing for being this sweet."
Before I knew it he hugged me. I couldn't help but blush and I think he saw. How embarrassing. But with that we headed to the door.
