A little over a year passed.
Catching up
I was still living with the Curtis brothers. Me and Johnny were still dating. Cherry and Mary were still my best friends ever besides the boys. Cherry was dating Sodapop and Mary was dating Ponyboy. Steve and Evie were still going strong. About a year ago Darry got a girl friend named Joyce. She really was lovely. She always helped out around the house. She went to college and had a steady job. She was so sweet. Darry proposed. They were going to get married in five months if all went well. I was really excited for him. He really loved her. Dally found a girl named Sharon. She was brave, a little edgy, a troublemaker and a risk taker like him. But she did have a good heart. Lastly two bit. Two bit met a girl named Margaret she was great too. She had a real good sense of humor and was a great cook. She was rel sweet too and caring. I couldn't find a better match for him. Mary loved her too. Everything was going really good. Me Steve and soda quit our jobs at the dx. Because we made our own business happen. And it was great. It was like a car garage, we fixed their cars up or painted them. And it also doubled as a store if you go into a door. Business was really good. I got my own car. We all had jobs now. Ponyboy helped out at the garage, Johnny and two bit both worked at a restaurant they doubled as waiters and hostesses, dally got a job at the nightly double as one of the clerks.
Now
"Johnny baby you can't let them do this. You bulked up last year. You gotta defend yourself. I don't know we we just gotta do something. I hate seeing you like this"
He winced as I put use on one of the whipping spots on his back
"I'm sorry." I said quickly
"No it's fine and you're right I gotta do something. But you don't gotta ice this. This isn't bad. I could fall on my back right now and it would only sting a little. Trust me I'm used to it. You don't gotta worry."
I kissed him on the forehead and put the ice away.
Today was three years since me and Johnny started dating. I got him something I made him a scrap book with all the pictures we took over the years. Boy there was a lot. It took a long time to make. I was gonna give it to him tonight,
I don't even know if he knows what today is.
"Thank you for everything darlin but I gotta go." He quick kissed me then went out the front doors. I doubt he remembered. Which made me kind sad but I pushed it aside.

"Dallas! Ponyboy! You comin?" I yelled as I got into my car. We were going to the store to buy things we needed around the house. The boys wanted to get a few things too. Plus we needed groceries.
They came and the trip ended up taking an hour and a half. They kept messing around but it was fun. It was weird because at the end they were kind of rushing to go.
When we came home they told me to get ready because we were going to a restarting for dinner so I did.
Johnny was cleaned up real good and I was kinda surprised he never gets all cleaned up like this. But I didn't think much of it. The boys told us to start walking there that they were gonna go get a few things from the store and then pick us up. I thought it was kind of odd but I started walking with Johnny.
"Close your eyes." Johnny said.
"What why?" I responded.
"Just close them."
He went behind me and put his hand over my eyes just in case I tried to peek.
"What is this?" I said laughing
"You'll see, just start walking, I'll lead you." Johnny said.
So we walked for about two minutes and stopped.
"You can open your eyes now." Johnny said taking his hand off them.
I opened my eyes. We were at the lot. But there was roses everywhere. And by everywhere I mean everywhere. Everywhere. There was twinkling lights over the trees. And by the tree where we would always sit there was white curtains surrounding it so it was like a room. No one could see in.
"Happy three year anniversary baby"
"Oh my gosh Johnny thank you so much" I said with a smile wider than ever.
It was beautiful.
"Cmon darlin." He grabbed my hand and we ran over to the curtains
