Day 34

"Ben? Ben!"

Rey ran into his apartment frantic.

"Rey...is that you?"

"Ben!"

Rey ran into his living room and saw him sitting on the couch, sad.

"Ben! Ben I'm here! It's fine! You'll be fine!"

Rey hugged him and started to cry.

"Rey what's wrong?"

"It's Unkar he's coming! Run! You have to leave! He's coming to hurt you! Ben!" Her eyes were wild as she shooed him to his room.

"Unkar? Who's that?"

"Sit down and I'll tell you." Rey sighed before starting her story.

"Unkar Plutt was my foster father. He would make me do labor and get parts for him from junkyards. In return I would get a place to live and a small amount of food. I often went to bed hungry. He also had anger issues and a very bad temper. Often he would throw stuff at me when he was upset -"

Rey lifted up her sleeve showing multiple scars and bruises.

"He let his anger out on me like I was his punching bag! Finally I reached 18 and Finn helped me escape. Now he's after me cause I left. He's looking for me right now and he thinks I was staying here. He's going to get you Ben! We have to leave!"

Rey tugged at his arm and pulled him out of the room.

"Ben! Let's go!"

More tears streamed down her face.

"Rey -"

"Ben -"

He put her hair behind her ear and used his fingers to gently wipe the tears away.

"It's going to be okay, I promise."

He took her hand in his own.
