She felt so relieved when the other person turned the torch towards her direction. She squinted as the lights hit her eyes but she didn't mind. She was just so relieved.
She was so happy she started waving her hands at whoever is holding the torch.

A few seconds later, the lights went back on. Before her eyes can adjust to the brightness she heard someone asked, "Who are you and what are you doing out here?"

Dara turn around to see who it was but she was met by a set of angry, questioning eyes. Did she see confusion there as well?
The guy is just a couple of feet taller than her and he has a slim and slender figure. I bet they're just about the same size. She guessed.
His gaze seemed to bore a hole through her and she started to get conscious.

It is embarrassing thinking about how she might look right now, with her clothes all drenched up and muddy, her hair wet with twigs and leaves tangled on it and when she looked down at her feet, one of her shoes is even missing. Great! She thought.

"Err..uhm, can I use your restroom?" Dara said.

She regretted saying it as soon as it gets out of her mouth. But really, all she can think of that moment is to wash herself clean. Who knows what kind of species lurked on those waters and the many forms of bacteria that strives there and on how it might get into her now swollen wounds.

It took a while for the guy to respond, "It's this way, get inside."
Did she just saw amusement in his eyes? She followed him inside the house. It was spacious and very open. She noticed there aren't very many walls around separating the sections of the house. In one corner, which she assume is the living room, there is one huge sofa and a cofee table and a book shelf behind it.
Across it, was the kitchen and dining area. Everything seems so airy in here. Dara thought.
She was relieved when he turned into a hallway to where a room is.

A room. Finally! She thought happy.

When he opened the door of the room, he turned to her saying, "In here. The bathroom is on the right side."

"Thank you." she told him before going inside. She looked around the spacious room and to her dismay, she saw everything is just so open again. She tried to lock the doors for some privacy but there were no locks too. Is privacy not allowed in here? She thought sarcastically. She looked around and in front of her is a huge bathtub, a shower and a toilet. On the other side was a queen-size bed and a sofa, a smaller version of the one outside. No walls in between them.
She sat down at the edge of the huge tub. She thought about how huge the tub is, one can even do backstrokes in here. She smiled at her own exaggeration. Feeling all sticky and muddy, she wanted to get in and soak herself in a bubble bath but she remembered this is not her place.

A soft knock on the door made her bolt up. Before she could even open it, the guy was already inside. No locks, remember? She told herself. Then a thought suddenly occurred to her and she instantly got scared?

What if he is some kind of a serial killer? What is he planning to do?What if he takes advantage of me? What if he is a rapist?

She wrapped her arms around her chest. Her thoughts running wild.

Then she saw him placed some toiletries on top of the dresser by the sink. He then turned to her and said, "You can use these if you need to wash up. You may also use one of towels there, they're clean." Pointing at the rack behind her. He then turned around and went out.

"Aish! Stupid! Silly! Fool." She told herself while hitting her head with her knuckles. What was she thinking? She felt embarrased at her over reaction.

Dara went to the sink and started cleaning herself. She is conflicted on whether to remove her dirty clothes or not. She doesn't have extra dry clothes and she can't stay here naked knowing it could just be the two of them inside this house. But her sense of proper hygiene overpowered her, so she stripped down naked soaked herself into the tub.
