Chapter 25 - Don't forget to remember me

"Dr. Park, please proceed to room No. 176. You are needed in Room No. 176."

The voice in the hospital paging system interrupted Dara's thought as she is reviewing one of her patient's charts.

She was suddenly engulfed with panic when she realized, the room the lady in the pager is referring to is Jiyong's room.

Is he finally awake? Why page me? Is it an emergency?

She dropped the chart she is holding to run to where Room 176 is.

She was panting as soon as she reached Jiyong's room. She was greeted by one of the nurses.

"What happened to the patient?" Dara asked, out of breath.

"The patient became violent all of the sudden when he can't remember a lot of things before the accident. We gave him some sedatives to calm him. His parents are inside maybe you should talk to them."

And that's what Dara did.

"He was in so much pain, he was crying so much, like that time." Mr. Kwon, described how Jiyong acted earlier. "He cannot remember anything about this accident and many things before it. It's like years of trying to recover and move on from his tragedy with Aiko three years ago never happened. Like he's back to square one." Jiyong's dad stated as Dara stare at the sleeping Jiyong.

...Three years is gone.. These words bother Dara.

That three years included her. So, could it be that Jiyong doesn't remember her and everything that happened between them too?

Her fears were confirmed when Jiyong suddenly spoke.

"Who are you?"

Dara was awakened from her trance when she heard Jiyong's voice. He was looking so intently at her.

"Me?" Dara asked foolishly.

Pabo! Of course you, you're the only one who just came to his room, aren't you? Dara scolded herself.

"Oh! err..I am, I'm Dr. Park. I'm one of your doctors."

"That's not what I meant." Jiyong said grimly. "Who are you and why do you look like Aiko?!"

His words and thunderous voice took Dara off guard. When she did not answer, Jiyong turned to his parents. They were as shocked as she is.

"Mom, Dad, who is this girl!? Is this some kind of a joke?! Aiko just died and you gave me a doctor that looked exactly like her?!" Jiyong almost shouted to his parents. He is starting to get hysterical again.

"Please calm down." Dara said as she moves closer to his bed.

"Don't come near me!!!!" Jiyong yelled at her.

His sudden outburst kind of hurt Dara's pride.

"Okay, alright. No need to shout. If it bothers you that much that I look like my sister Aiko then I will go. I will ask another doctor to look after you." Dara said calmly as she tries to appease him.

"Aiko's sister?! Are you kidding me?! Stop making things up!?" Jiyong said full of disgust. "Aiko is the only child in her family. I know her family!" Jiyong said firmly.

"No, I'm not making things up!" Dara defended herself and a little irritated that she has to.

She took a deep breath before continuing. "Well, I also didn't know at first that we were sis--" Dara stopped mid sentence when she saw Jiyong's expression. It was unimpressed, more angry-like.

Why is he so mad? Dara thought, frustrated.

"You know what, I don't need to explain myself nor discuss my family history to you." Dara said dismissing the topic. "Please excuse me Mr. and Mrs. Kwon." Dara said before storming out of the room. She passed by Nadia whose returning from her hotel.
