Chapter 3- Right Time

Everything was set. With the help of their friends, Jiyong invited Aiko to go with them in an amusement park outside of Seoul.

It was a long shot for Jiyong to ask Aiko to go out of town but he got so lucky that Aiko's schedule is free that weekend so she agreed.

The night started fine. Everything seems to work according to his plan.  They were both having a good time. They ride go-karts, ferries wheel and even roller coasters.

"Aiko, let's ride the carousel." He invited Aiko then pulled her away from the others and led her to the path going to the carousel.

When they reached the carousel, Jiyong didn't let go of Aiko's hand .

"It's closed." He heard Aiko said. She pulled her hand away and started to walk away.

For some reason, Jiyong thought he heard disappointment in her voice.

As he looked at her retreating back, he silently prayed that Sonja and Reum, their model friends from KVT and his accomplice in pulling off his surprise, will do what they are supposed do on time. 

He immediately took out a silver, apple-shaped box from one of his pockets. He also pulled out from behind him a short stemmed rose he's been hiding the whole time.

Let's just go back to where the others--" Aiko said as she looked back at Jiyong.

She stopped mid sentence when she noticed the lights started to lit around her. Simultaneously, an unfamiliar acoustic song started to play.

Jiyong was glad that as soon as Aiko turned around, the lights from the carousel turned on and the song he composed to confess his love for her,  played in the background. Perfect timing. He thought.

This is your chance Jiyong. He told himself. Do it right.

Aiko walked closer to him. He looked at her face trying to read her reaction.  He gave Aiko the rose then kneel down on one knee, opened the apple shaped box and offered it to her. Inside it were catier 'promise you' couple rings.

Aiko just stared at the rings.  Confusion now written all over her face.
Not exactly the kind of reaction Jiyong expected. He wanted her to smile. He wanted her  to give him her sweetest smile. The same sweet smile that made him fall in love with her.

When Aiko didn't say anything, Jiyong  reached out to hold her hand, he looked lovingly into her eyes then asked, "Aiko, can I keep your smile forver?"

The music continued playing in the background.
