Chapter 19- Uncertainty

It's her last night in Seoul and for some reason she wanted to celebrate. Tomorrow she will go back to Busan. She will to go back to her simple, normal life. Since she has no friends in Seoul, she went all by herself to a karaoke bar. She sang and danced and drank like crazy all by herself. She tried singing some of Bigbang and G-Dragon's songs. She even cried while singing some of their sad songs, especially when she sang, Tell me goodbye by Bigbang.

After just a few hours and two bottles of soju, Dara is already drunk. She then tried singing one of Chae's songs, Lonely. As she sing the song, she can't help but think about how lucky and successful Charlene or Chae or whatever, her sister, has become. Her songs are on every videoke songbook.

Then a thought occurred to her. I am going to call Chae and tell her thank you for letting me stay with her here in Seoul and goodbye 'cause she don't know when they will see each other again. She took out her phone and started to dial Chae's number. After two rings her call was cancelled.

"Mwo-yah!" She shouted at her phone then dialled again.

Meanwhile, Charlene is in a meeting with the rest of the KVT artists. They are discussing details for their upcoming family concert tour in Japan. Her phone is on top of the huge conference table when it started ringing.

Jiyong who is sitting beside Chae noticed her phone lit up and vibrate as it rings. When he saw the name that's calling, he stiffened. Chae cancelled the call but the caller calls back again after about 10 seconds. Chae answered it this time.

Chae moved her chair backwards as she hissed quietly on her phone.

"Why are you calling me? I'm in a mee-- mwoh?!" Chae grew silent as she listened to the person on the other line.

Jiyong can't help himself from eavesdropping especially when he saw it's Dara whose calling Chae.

"Are you drunk?!...No. I won't go there...Are you crazy?! It's not safe for girls to go there alone... No. I will call dad to get you there!...I'm in a meeting. Bye!"

When Jiyong heard Chae's conversation with Dara, he felt a little worried. Is Dara really drunk and where is she? Why is she in an unsafe place? He wondered.

Not able to contain his anxiety he asked Chae as soon as she get back beside him, "Is your sister still here in Seoul?" He said as casually as possible.

Charlene rolled her eyes before answering. "Yes and she's giving me hard time. She wanted me to meet her in a noraebang in Hongdae. What a pity!" Chae said distastefully.

Jiyong can't help but feel a little pissed at how Chae is treating her sister but he kept it to himself and didn't say anything. He doesn't want to get involved.

But all througout their meeting he keeps on observing if Chae would really call their dad to tell him to pick Dara up.
Their meeting has already ajourned but Chae hasn't picked up her phone again. He thought Chae doesn't have any plan to call their dad nor meet Dara at all. He wanted to remind Chae about it but she already left the room.

He debated on whether or not he should go and rescue Dara. But when he remembered Dara's clumsiness especially when she's drunk, this worried him so much he immediately stood up, took his jacket and rushed into his car.

When Charlene picked up the phone earlier, instead of telling her 'thank you' and 'goodbye' Dara invited her to come and join her in the karaoke bar in Hongdae. Since she is not familiar yet with the best hang out places in Seoul, she ended up there.

"C'mon Charlene. I never asked for anything from you before, just please join me, just this once. I'm here in Hongdae, in a noraebang. Please do it for your noona." Dara said trying to sound cute. But still Charlene declined and even told her she will call their dad to pick her up.
