Leonard had been busy with a meeting at the mayor's office when he felt his cell phone vibrate. His heart pounded fast seeing the number. It's time. He smiled a little to himself. "I'm really sorry. I have to take this." He said looking up interrupting the meeting. Oliver nodded knowing the exact reason. "I'm on my way." He told Thea answering the phone and quickly headed to his car.
Leonard arrived at the hospital in perfect timing just to see the nurse pushing Sara down the hall in a wheelchair to one of the room's. He jogs down the hall to catch up with them. Thea was asked to wait in the waiting room.
"Are you allowed company?" Thea asked peeking her head in through the door once the doctor had come out to tell her that Sara and the baby were doing just fine. Leonard and Sara had been looking down at the baby just watching her sleep. Leonard glanced up and smiled at Thea. "Come in." He said quietly. Thea walks over to the side of the bed and smiles as she sees her goddaughter. "She is gorgeous!" Thea exclaimed. Sara smiled. "Would you like to hold her?" Thea nodded. "I thought you would never ask." Sara laughed a little and carefully passed her daughter over to Thea.
"Does she have a name yet?" Thea asked as she carefully took the baby from Sara. "Abigail Laurel Snart. Abby or Gabby for short." Thea tilts her head slightly. "Gabby Snart. I think you better go with Abby." Sara smirked a little and shook her head. "Will the others be coming to visit?" She asked as she kept glancing down at her goddaughter. "Felicity and Oliver will be coming after the meeting. I think dad and Donna are coming tomorrow. Lyla, Sara and John will be coming to visit this weekend. Sara wanted to come right away. But Lyla had to break a deal with her. She thought I would want some rest."
Thea nodded. "I won't stay too long." Sara shook her head. "Oh no. You are perfectly fine." Sara smiled. After Thea had handed Sara over her baby gift, she handed Abigail back over to Sara. "Congratulations again." Thea said quietly hugging Sara then going over to hug Leonard. "Thank you Thea." They both responded about the same time.
As the couple days had past, Sara was finally released from the hospital. Cold helped get Abigail settled into the car seat while Sara grabbed the last few items from the room to take home with them. "You sure you got her? I can take her." Sara said as she grabbed her suitcase and followed Leonard out of the room. He glances over at Sara and smiled a little. "I am perfectly fine."
"Can I hold her?" Sara asked a bit impatiently as Lyla had a hold of Abigail for almost an hour. Sara laughed watching Sara's face looking quite impatiently at her mother. "Of course. Remember to be gentle with her though." Lyla reminded her. Sara rolled her eyes. "I'm ten mother."
Lyla sighed and slowly stood up. Sara took Lyla's spot on the couch and Lyla gently set Abigail in Sara's arms. Sara stayed pretty content holding Abigail while the four grown ups visited. "So you are here to stay for good? You're not planning on going back in the army?" Sara asked looking at John as they sat on the chairs at the kitchen table. "No. It was just something I needed to do. After Dahrk..." He trailed off. Sara nodded slowly. "We'll we are glad that you are back." Sara smiled. They continued to visit awhile until Lyla had noticed Sara was getting tired.
"Alright baby girl. We need to head out." Sara sighed a little hearing her father. "Alright." She leaned forward and gently placed a kiss on Abigail's forehead. "Goodbye Abby." Leonard walked over and took Abby from Sara so she could stand up. They took turns giving each other a hug before the Diggle's left. Leonard looked over at Sara to see she was a little pale from being tired. "You should get some rest." He said walking over to her as she was still sitting on the chair. Sara glanced up at him and nodded. "Are you sure you will be fine with her?" Leonard smiled. "We will be perfectly fine. You don't need to worry. I promise." Sara slowly stood up then made her way over to Leonard. She wrapped her arms around him standing on her tiptoes to give him a kiss then leaned forward gently giving Abby a kiss on the forehead before making her way into the bedroom and crashing onto the bed falling fast asleep
As Sara was still sleeping, Leonard carefully walked over to the couch while still holding Abigail and sat down. He turned the tv on quietly, glancing down now and then to see that Abigail had fallen asleep. He smiled as he watched his daughter sleeping. Him and Sara had been married for five years. And he still was having trouble believing this wasn't all a dream. As he noticed Abigail had finally fallen asleep, he got up and brought her to the nursery, gently placing her in the crib then pulling her blanket over her so she wouldn't get too cold. He placed his hands on the railing of the crib watching his daughter sleep for awhile. He then exited the room shutting off the lights then went to check on Sara, who still seemed to be out cold.
"Hey.." Leonard looked up to see Sara exiting out of their room. He smiled. "Hey. Did you have a nice nap?" He asked as she came around to sit down next to him. He wrapped his arms around her pulling her close to him. "I did." She smiled in return resting her head on his shoulder. "How is Abby doing?" She asked. "She's doing perfectly fine. I just laid her down in her crib about an hour ago. How are you feeling?" He asked glancing down at her. Sara wrapped her arms around his waist. "I'm still tired. But I'm doing better."
"So. Do you think you're up for a game?" Leonard smirked holding up a deck of cards. Abigail was still sleeping. It had been the longest she had slept since they had brought her home from the hospital four weeks ago. Sara grinned a little. "You're on." Leonard walked over to the table and sat across from Sara. He began dealing the cards. "Wait.. You mean I actually won a set?" Leonard teased rubbing it in a little that he had finally won a series. Sara started laughing just as they began to hear Abigail cry. "I'll get her." Sara said as she saw Leonard glancing towards the direction of Abigail's bedroom.
After Sara had been in the nursery for some time, Leonard got up and made his way into the room to check on her and the baby. He smiled a little seeing Sara had fallen asleep in the rocking chair. He slowly went over to gently pick up Abigail and place her in the crib, covering her up once again. He then went over and picked up Sara, careful not to wake her. As he lifted her into his arms, her arms automatically wrapped around his neck. He carried her over to their own room and placed her in their bed, slowly pulling the covers over her. He then leans forward kissing her forehead. "I love you Sara." He whispered. He watched her sleeping a moment, he thought he had seen a smile form on her face as she slept.
Considering where he had been, Leonard considered himself quite lucky, to be where he was now. He smiled to himself as he continued to watch his wife sleep. Who would've thought, someone would've been able to steal a thief's heart?
