A/N: featuring Leon and Emery, the OCs of sorascribbles

A man, normally unshakable and strong, lies comatose in bed; light cotton sheets draped over his still form, rising and falling gently with his breathing. Two men sit at his side, two Hylians; a young healer named Leon and Emery, the man whom this figure nearly gave his life to save.

They'd fought a foe, a near unkillable foe. Emery had fought valiantly, but he'd grown fatigued, his flames could only burn for so long before he was forced into the weaker form of a fairy. That's when the other man stepped in; steely eyes burning, short blonde hair sparking with flame.

Joshua Burner.

He blasted this foe with as much fire as he could muster, as much fury as he could allow before he slowly became consumed by it, by his madness. He became merciless, tearing at the foe with burning hands, turning each cell into cinder. But then came a voice from behind him, as the foe's ashes blew across the ground.

"Josh..."

It was Emery. He'd gained enough strength to regain his human form, and he stood panting, leaning against a wall.

"Josh, you have to stop this. You can't let this be the end of you, Klemmie needs you, we need you, all of us. Please Josh."

That'd taken the last of Emery's strength and he collapsed to the ground, morphing back into the small winged ball of red light.

And Josh's fury abated, the flames dying, and he rushed forward, catching Emery in his warm palms. He had to do something, Emery had only begun fighting the foe because they'd been harrassing him.

He closed his eyes and focused his life energy into his hands, focused on sending it into the fairy form of his Hylian friend. He felt the light weight leave his hands and hover over him, but still he carried on.

He grew weaker, his life flowing into Emery as the latter slowly regained his human like form. But he was still unconcious.

He gave more, more, more. There was no way he was going to leave his friend weak.

He fell to one knee, Emery's human form now lying peacfully before him. But he had to wake him up.

More.

More.

He had to help, to heal.

Conciousness began slipping away, his heartbeat slowed, but he could see Emery was stirring.

But he still gave more, the last of what he had, to fully wake him up, before everything faded to black.

As Emery awoke, he saw Josh's body lying still beside him. It didn't make sense, what had happened? The last he remembered, he'd been fighting his foe, a foe he couldn't injure, couldn't burn. But now.. they were gone.. And Josh was.....

He scrambled over to check the other man's pulse; it was weak, very weak. Like he was dying. And his soul cried out for help. This summoned his brother, Leon, who immediately appeared by his side, his clear blue eyes full of concern.

"Emery? Wh'happened?"

Then Leon noticed Josh and instantly knelt beside him, placing gentle hands on his chest. His hands faintly glowed with a green light as he gave Josh enough strength to get his heart back to a regular rythem.

He and Emery carried Josh to his room in the apartment block to the side of the massive library the dojo was attatched to and laid him in bed, vowing to stay and keep watch...

A while later, while the librarian was out, Josh's heart stopped. Leon immediately sensed it and restarted it, taking a couple of attempts, like Josh was actively resisting his help, but he succeeded in the end. And this is where they'll stay, watching over their friend until he finally awakes.
