It had been a simple challenge; Natewantstobattle versus Egoraptor. Not musically, but on the field of battle. Now the two faced each other in a rusty red canyon, the wind tousling their hair and clothing.
Nate smirked, unsheathing his two shortswords and turning them deftly in his grip, "You sure you wanna do this Arin? Battlin's in my blood."
The other man swept his long hair from his face and spun his bo staff, bringing it to a defensive position. "Oh please, do you even bruh?"
Nate laughed, a determined fire in his eyes, "of course I even, do you even, bruh? You aren't gonna beat me Arin, no one can." And with that he sprang forward, darting at his opponent at top speed, his blades crossed in front of him and slashing apart as he neared the other man.
Arin flipped out of the way, soaring through the air and landing a good six feet away from Nate. "If that's all you got, Nathan, then I don't think I have anything to worry about."
Enraged, Nate darted forward again, swinging his blades furiously. Only to have them deftly blocked and a sharp blow to the side of the head from Arin's staff. He staggered back a few steps, dazed, and shook his head briskly. "You underestimate my power Arin Hanson. I have the power of my friends behind me, and with that, I can conquer anything."
"Tch, fool. You forget that I, too, have such a power. the Grumps have a much larger following than you, I have more souls that are united together in supporting me." Arin changed his stance to an attacking one. "Come at me bro."
Another charge forward and Nate's blades were again, blocked. But, this time, he was ready and deflected Arin's strikes, using his forearms occasionally to block blows he couldn't get his blades to.
They traded blows furiously, their movements like lightning with strikes and parries until Arin managed to get his staff under a cross blade block of Nate's and disarmed the man with a sharp upward swing, following up with a series of powerful blows and kicks that, though Nate tried to block, couldn't be blocked with the bare arms. A strong back kick to Nate's ribs sending the musician reeling, falling to the ground and skidding several feet back in a cloud of dust.
Nate groaned, a hand clasped over his chest, over aching ribs. He couldn't believe he'd been felled so easily. Despair began to set in as Arin approached him, his staff coming to rest under his chin.
Arin smirked. "I told you I had nothing to fear from you, Nate. Do you surrender?"
But Nate could hear his fans, his friends, calling out to him. They believed in him and he couldn't let them down. The energy they sent him gathered within him and his dark eyes blazed with strength. "Never." He kicked Arin's legs out from under him and spun to his feet like a breakdancer, dodging back and putting ten feet between them. He raised his hand skywards, channelling that power into his hand. Light swirled around him, gathering in his outstretched hand and solidified into the form of an electric guitar. He brought it down to play, a large grin stretching his face. "There are too many people counting on me to give up now. Time to end this!" His fingers moved in practised frenzy, playing lightning fast runs that sent out pulses of energy at Arin.
The Grump staggered back, buffeted by the razor-sharp gale of energy sent his way, shielding his face with his arms, gashes appearing in them as they sliced his skin.
Nate played faster and faster before finishing with a powerful chord that blasted Arin with an ultra powerful blast and sent him flying. Noticing this, Nate vanished the guitar and walked over to Arin, picking up his swords on the way and sheathing them in their crossed scabbards on his back. He stood over Arin with his head tilted and an innocent smile on his face. "You okay bro? Ya look like crap."
Arin chuckled, reaching up a hand to Nate so the other could help him up. When he was on his feet, he began dusting himself down. "Yeah, been better. But that was a great fight, you have to teach me how to do the guitar thing like holy shit dude that was amazing!"
Laughter now from the musician as he watched Arin sort himself out. "Sorry dude, trade secret. Plus, you kinda have to know how to play guitar to pull it off. Also the fact that you said it was a good fight implies it's over. Does that mean I win?"
"No way man, it's a tie. You only took  me down through some bullshit power of the heart thing."
"But I still took you down~"
                              "Goddammit Nate."
