A/N: Inspired by/set after the events of 'Deep Red Polygons' by Rudie_Strummer

Since the return of Josh Burner and Will Allen, students and staff at Asagao Academy had noticed a distinct change in the young men. They didn't know what they'd been through, the torment they'd experienced in the months where they were presumed dead.

They both refused to wear their ties, Josh violently defending Will's right to do so, saying that he'd suffered severe neck trauma and that neckwear was painful to his blue oni.

The bullies took advantage of this, they cornered Will one day with an electric dog collar and forced it round his neck.

Will shook violently, his breathing growing shallow and his body shutting down.

Josh found them, found Will in that state.

He could hear Him.

See Him.

He was standing there, hand outstretched, beckoning.

Josh rushed forward to help Will, tearing the aggressors away and the collar from his neck.

But then he felt something around his own.

It was like a switch had been flicked in his mind; Josh's body stiffened as he felt the soft fabric of a tie wrap around his throat, tightening.

He didn't fight.

He couldn't breathe.

The cord got tighter.

He was dimly aware of Will begging the bullies to stop, saying he'd do anything.

He could see The Joker grinning at him.

The tie around his throat got tighter.

He felt lightheaded.

He couldn't fight.

His vision became edged with darkness.

His eyes drifted closed.

His body went limp.

Fire.

Fire.

Burn.

Burn.

BURN.
