I slowly open my eyes to daylight streaming in through the window and I'm laying on a rough bed that makes my back ache.
I feel as if I've been sewn in a sack and dumped in freezing water. 'uhhhhh' I groan.
Jason peeps in from behind the door.
'You're awake' He says, his eyes showing a little relief. Well wasn't that obvious.
I groan and manage to sit up on the bed, just before falling down again.
' so?' I mumble.
He comes into the room and nervously shifts from foot to foot.
'yeah, so...... how are you feeling?' He asks.
I try to get up and again and manage to do so.' Still a little dizzy.'
He nods and continues talking.
' So, you must've realized it isn't safe here'
I laugh, and it feels good to let it all out.
'Safe? Me? Please, I've never heard of that word' I reply.
He cracks a smile before scowling again as if he's remembered something.
'I've decided to pack up this place and leave, it's definitely not safe here, and the other dark guard's will return once they realize that one of their crew is missing.'
I nod.' So when are we leaving?'
'Now'
We'll wasn't that nice of him. Leaving when I can barely walk, God knows how that'll go.
I shrug and try to stand up and instantly fall to the hard floor.
'Ow' I mumble.
Jason shakes his head and helps me up.
'okay..... about that leaving, maybe once you're better?'
He says, chuckling nervously.I give him a look. 'I'd appreciate that very much, thank you .'
He grins and helps me onto the bed and dusts off his hands.
' so in the meantime, what's the plan?' I ask.
He shrugs.'more packing, I guess?'
I grumble.'A great pleasure too.'
He glares than heads out of the room, leaving me to wonder if he really is a cinnamon roll.
Most probably, yes.
