We had just gotten into the house when I was met with the emotionless face of my father. "Clara, please come up to your room when your finished with your Popsicle. The family need to talk." He said, rather hushed I thought.

I quickly finished my Popsicle and told my friends to wait in the barn. I plodded upstairs and opened my door. My sister looked just as confused as I was. I walked slowly to my purple beanbag chair and plopped down into it. My sister sat in my blue and green striped moon chair. "Girls," my parents began.

Suddenly realization crashed on me like the roof caved in. "Dads leaving," I whispered.

"What honey?" my mom said. She hadn't heard me.

"I said, Dads leaving!" I yelled. My sister looked at the man I once called father. "You promised you wouldn't leave. You lied. Well you know what? I don't care. Go run off with the team you call your 'family'. I quit. Come on Marie. Before they tear us apart even more." I looked at my parents with pure hatred knowing I was right. They stared in shock as I picked up Marie and ran to the barn.

I got to the barn where my friends stood. Jordan too. She had her sister with her who had one of her and Marie's friends doubled on the back of her Flea-bitten Grey Welsh cross, Arabella. Bella for short. I pulled off the girl,(who's name was Molly.) and put her on Teddy. I tacked up Carmel and Dancer and trotted out of the barn. I sprang into an extended canter and jumped over the 4'9" fence into the pasture. Everyone followed me. We galloped across the pasture and slowed when we got 10 feet from the fence. I jumped over it and rode clear up the hill side until we hit the top of Sunset 'mountain' as everyone called it.

Jordan had packed food for lunch and dinner seeing as I needed time to cool off after my sudden outburst in my bedroom. I pulled out my phone and checked the time. 2:30. We had ridden for nearly an hour. We stopped by the spring and let the horses drink and graze. We ate lunch and rested for a bit before I decide we should head back.

"Come on guys. We need to head back. It'll be getting dark in about 2 hours and I have issues at home that need looking after."

We all mounted and trotted down the hill side. We jumped the fences and walked into the barn. My parents were waiting for us. Worried most likely. "Where were you two?! We've been worried sick!" my mom said.

All of my friends trotted into the barn. "We've been with them." I answered sourly. I added a small glare that neither of them noticed.

"Goodness! it's not like you to just burst out and be angry. You scared me. Now come down here. We need to talk."

"I will come down off of my horse when I feel like coming down! And if your going to say I'm grounded, don't. I already know. But you won't keep me from riding. Or seeing my friends." I said with such venom in my voice that she looked at me, even more stunned than when I'd yelled at the both of them.

When they walked away, I dismounted Dancer and untacked her. I let her into the pasture for the mares and geldings. My friends put their horses into the correct pastures and went home.

I now had to go in with my sister and face the music called my life. I was nervous to face my parents. I took a deep, shaky, breath and opened the door. I stepped inside with my sister in tow and shut the front door. I took a shaky step forward into the kitchen.
