I lifted Molly onto Teddy and slipped the reighns over his head. I mounted Dancer and looked over my sholder at everyone. We all decided to go bareback with bridles only. "Is everyone ready?" They nodded. We rode out of the barn and down the driveway. I turned left down the main road and rode toward town.
We all laughed and giggled the whole way into town. it took about 10 minutes to get to town. We stopped at the store and I slipped of Dancers back. My friends Copied my and We tied the most complicated knots we knew, to the tethering post outside the store. We walked inside and we each picked out our favorite snacks. All together, it was $35. my mom had given me 10 and the other girls each chipped in a 5. We paid and put our snacks into our saddlebags.
We mounted our horses and began our ride. We got a few funny looks from people but we just smiled and showed them just how fast we could go. We passed by a farm and pulled to a stop by the fence. "Hey uncle Tom!" I yelled. He turned his plow horse, Benny, towards us and galloped over.
"Hey kid! Long time no see! How are you hon?" my uncle said to me.
"Good." I giggled as Benny tossed his head.
" Hey Benny. How's my favorite boy, huh?" I passed Benny a carrot.
" What are you up to?"
"We are going camping at the spot by the river. You know, The one we fed the geese at?"
"Yeah. I know what your talking about. Have fun and be safe. I better get back to work before your aunt Sandy gets her ponytail in a knot. I love you sweety. Bye!" He called as he rode away.
"Bye Benny! Bye Uncle Tom!" I called back.
I nudged Dancer into a swift, smooth, trot and pointed her to the river. When we goth there, we started a fire using driftwood and pitched the tents. Marie, Molly, and Annie (Jordan's sister) got the small tent and Jordan, Jasmine, Sarah, and I got the big one. We busted open the marshmallows, Hershey's chocolate, and graham crackers. We were in for some fun. I left Jordan in charge and rode back to my uncle Toms.
I asked to borrow a fishing pole and a tacklebox and rode back to camp with both. I managed to catch 4 Steelhead's. Each of them where 5 or 6 pounds. I cooked them and let them cool. I couldn't wait to eat my dinner.
