Summer is
first kisses in photo booths
a shiver down your spine
as you jump in cold water
and the taste of raw honey
Fall is
new supplies
the smell of paper
a crisp wind
and dawns and dusks melting together,
a ruined watercolor
Winter is
hot chocolate and cold toes
the sound of the wind
howling at the moon
and tiny feet pitter-pattering on the floors
in the early morning
like raindrops on the roof
Spring is
life and death
rites of passage
and new paint jobs
of yellow dust,
it's the screech of metal-on-metal
and the silence of a flower blossoming.
it is the calm before the storm
