Sunrise

The dawn came slowly at first

A few sparks of light here and there

Just barely the glimmer of something better on the horizon

Then it broke the tree-line

And exploded into existence

Flames licking the sky

Yellow, orange, red,

It consumes the fading darkness

Echoed by the gentler shades

Purple, blue, pink,

Add to the breath-taking beauty

Born in the still air

And you take my hand,

And our love blooms once again.
