They told you not to stand out
That the best way to get by was to blend in,
To disappear
They said don't bother to try,
You'll only fail
They said, they said, they said
They told you to fall
To give up
To embrace the darkness
Because the light never won
But they were wrong
Because you kept going
Because you read the forbidden words,
Because you practiced your fighting
And your blade grew strong
So when they fought you,
You won
What happens now?
You are free
Who can you count on?
Anyone you want to trust
How does this work?
You go
You discover
You live, however you want, whenever you want
Because they said nothing could break the darkness, but they were wrong
And you outshone them all
