Flames

Flames

They lick the inside of my chest

They fill me with passion

And destroy the emotions

Tumbling, tumbling, tumbling

Tripping and falling over myself

I was in love

But not loved

Now I’m loved

But it’s too late

These flames destroyed my love

And my life

I’m a soldier now

One human, in a world of magic

Flames

They took everything from me

They melted me down,

And re-made me,

Better for the cause

But I’m a husk of the person I was

My emotions are gone

Wreathed in flames

They burned

And now there’s nothing but ashes

The ashes of my love

The ashes of me
