After school that day, Lisa sent Dylan and I up to our bedrooms to complete our homework while Lisa quickly gathered high heels for the both of us and pleaded for my dad to get dressed into something more 'classy' for the dance lesson.

I feel bad for my dad. He's the type of guy that could spend the whole day at home on the couch in nothing but baggy shorts and a shirt. I don't think I've ever seen him in a tux.

Since Dylan had no homework, which I highly doubted, he was currently sprawled out on my bed with a football ball in his hands. I kept glancing at his defined, caramel coated arm that threw the ball, hitting it up against my ceiling.

Get a grip !

We still hadn't spoken about the incident that took place on his balcony this morning and I'd rather leave it at that. He made it very clear he was not interested in kissing me until I made the first move and I'm not a silly girl about to fall into his trap and jeopardise my father's wedding.

"Do you always have to complete your homework? Why don't you just leave it till tomorrow morning?" Dylan's voice snapped me back to reality.

After completing the sentence I was busy with, I chucked my pen into my pencil case and closed my book. "I've sat detention before and quite frankly I did not enjoy it." He smiled at the thought before he shrugged carelessly. "Which reminds me," I stated, "How are you attending the small get together on Friday?"

"What do you mean?"

A smug smile tugged at the corner of my lips. "You have detention."

His eyes shot open in realisation and he failed to catch the ball, which fell to the floor. "Shit!" He glanced my way and glared at me before gathering the ball and throwing it at me. I caught it and stuck out my tongue. "Thanks a lot." He sarcastically stated.

A chuckle escaped my lips. "That's to get you back for touching my clothes."

He smiled. "Who says I'm even going?"

I rolled my eyes at the statement as I stood up and pushed in my chair. "I don't know what you guys have planned but if you skip detention you know you'll be suspended. And not to burst your bubble but you can't afford to be selfish at this moment, especially with the wedding coming up."

"Don't worry that pretty little head of yours. I won't be getting suspended."

"Please, do I look worried?" I stared flat out at him, hiding my curiousity that will soon get the better of me.

"Surprisingly not, especially for someone who might have to fly to Vagas this weekend if her brother can't get out of detention."

That little piece of shit. "You wouldn't."

His devious smile stretched his lips upwards as his eyes twinkled with mischief. "Try me."

I glared at him. Why did I have a feeling I would be getting involved in his plan. "Ag, I hate you."

"Didn't seem like that this morning." My cheeks stained pink instantly, which he did not fail to notice. His smirk intensified when I couldn't provide him with a snarky comeback.

Strapping on the high heels, I watched as Lisa and my dad swayed around the dance floor. The sparkle that twinkled in Lisa's eyes everytime she was with my father, reminded me of my mother.

Although my mother left us, there were days when I could tell how much my mother loved my father. Especially when he came home and surprised her with flowers. Yes, that's not such a big deal but actions speak louder than words. To say that I was confused about my mother's disappearance, was an understatement. But I've done pretty good on my own with my dad in my opinion.
