Sarah's POV
Later I was in the main room with Isabelle when Alec walks in with Max, he runs and gives me a hug as I lift him up, "Sarah do you think you could get my stele back", Max asks making me and Alec laugh, "they took it away because you nearly burned down the Mumbi institute", Alec says, "how many times do I have to say it was an accident", Max says, "sorry bud but someone very important is coming to visit, do you think you can stay out of trouble for a couple days and I promise me and Alec will try to get your stele back", I say, "ok", Max says before whispering in my ear, "are you and Alec dating", he asks making me laugh before placing him back on the ground, "that's between me and your brother", I say. Just the then door opened and Valentine walks in, Alec draws his bow while I push Max behind me, Alec shoots the arrow but Valentine catches it before turning into a girl with Blond hair, "that reaction time was abysmal", she says walking towards us, "except for you, I'm Lydia Brandwell, envoy for the clave", she says. She walks past us as Isabelle and her mom walk in, "Maryse, the clave has ordered me to take temporary control of the institute", Lydia says, "why was I not informed", Maryse says, "the clave doesn't need to and to repeat myself its temporary, nothing's been decided yet, beside I need full clearance in order to assess how this institute is running", she says writing a symbol on the monitor before turning to us, "where is Clary Fairchild", she asks, we don't respond, "I would hope someone knows", Lydia says, "she's out in the field training", I say, "you mean to tell me she's just out and about in the streets of New York, Valentine's daughter", Lydia says walking towards me, "isn't she also your cousin", Isabelle says, "distant", Lydia fakes a smile, "she's with Jace", Alec says gripping my hand hoping I don't explode with anger, "same Jace Wayland who let an unsanctioned raid on the vampires, I've read reports", Lydia said in her snobby attitude, "Jace might be unconventional but he is our best solider and if he with Clary she's in good hands", Maryse says following Lydia, now it was my turn to calm my boyfriend down because I know he hates being told Jace is the best, "I hope so and for your sake all of New York, all of your jurisdiction better be well protected", Lydia says making me roll my eyes.

"Not a fan", Isabelle says as we are walking back into the main room, "jealous", Alec asks, "yes", I mutter, "no, maybe, how the hell did she catch that arrow", Isabelle says as I get a text from Luke saying a forsaken broke into the Jade Wolf, I show the text to Alec as we walk towards Maryse and Lydia. "I have something you need to see", I say, "someone attacked the Jade Wolf", I show the pictures from my phone, "the werewolf headquarters where-", "where did you get these", Lydia says interrupting Maryse, "leader of the New York wolf pack", I say, "your friends with Lucian Graymark, an ex circle member", Lydia says making me roll my eyes, "yes but so what, and besides he's no longer a Shadowhunter so who cares if he was in the circle or not", I snap, "how about we send Alec and Sarah to go investigate, I'm sure this is linked to-", "Valentine, I have to see this for myself", Lydia cuts Maryse off once again, she starts to walk away but then turns when no one moves, "are you coming or not", she says, me and Alec follow but she puts her hand up to stop me which I grab, "don't you dare, I am coming too, besides its me he called not you", I snap walking ahead of her.

We get to the dock, "I see why all the girls in Idris are wanting to meet you", I hear Lydia say to Alec, "what do you mean", Alec asks, "word is your looking to settle down, get married", Lydia says, "dammit", Alec says, "let me guess not your idea", Lydia asks, "not in the slightest but if I were to marry anyone it would be Sarah", Alec says, "why, what's so special about her", Lydia says as if I wasn't walking behind them, "she's my girlfriend", Alec defends clearly irritated, "oh, well my parents tried to set me up", Lydia says, "and how did that work out", Alec asks, "not well for them, I made my own path, married the love of my life, John Monteverde. Together we were going to run the Lisbon institute and then John was killed. Everything was ripped away, my love, my dream job", she pauses just as we stop in front of the Jade Wolf, "piece of advice, in this line of work the only thing worth falling for is the work itself", she says, "Lydia I'm so sorry", I say after hearing her story, she nods sadly before we walk into the Jade Wolf.

We get in to find a forsaken lying dead on the ground with a the men healing around us, "it's got some characteristics of a forsaken, it was human, most likely runed", Lydia says bending down to look at the body, "I don't know, it was more focused, more determined like it had a goal, plus a normal forsaken wouldn't have been hard to kill, it took 5 wolves to take it down. Never seen anything like it", Luke says, "we'll take the body back to the institute to do a full autopsy", Lydia says taking control again, "hold up, I get that I called you actually I called Sarah. What I didn't want was someone coming in and taking control", Luke says, "that's kinda her thing", Alec says coming up to us, "it's kinda annoying don't ya think", I say making Luke chuckle but Lydia frowned, "look I know I might come off as abrasive-", "no kidding", I say earning a chuckle from Luke but a disapproving glare from Alec, "but we are all on the same side here, can't we agree on that. The institute has the resources we need to find out what this thing is", Lydia says, "we do have an expert in all beings of the shadow world", Alec says, "do you have one here, in this Chinese restaurant", Lydia asks sarcastically, "fine you win just let me know what you find", Luke says, "you think Valentine was behind this", Alec says, "no question it's defiantly his work", Luke says, "you don't think he's after ex circle members do ya", I ask, "most likely might be kinda personal. We have a complicated past, might be going after anyone who betrayed him", Luke says, "we'll put up extra wards on the institute", Lydia says before I walk out of the restaurant to the institute.
