Chapter 24

Sarah's POV
We get to the hotel after talking to Luke and telling him what's going on, just then the door opens and Clary and Simon walk out, Clary runs to Jace and hugs him, "this is your safe hideout really", Jace asks, "well do you think the clave would have looked here", she says, "can we focus unless no one cares that the clave is planning on murdering Meliord", I snap, "what", Clary says turning to Jace, "they think he has more information about the attack", Jace says, "they are taking him to the silent brothers", Isabelle says, "we have to stop him", Clary says, "that's the plan, rescue and recovery", Jace says, "we get him from the guards, in and out no one gets hurt", I say, "you want us to go against the Silent Brothers and elite Shadowhunter guards", Clary asks, "without backup", Luke asks, "pretty much", Jace says, "is Alec coming", Clary asks, "10 bucks says Alec's leading them", I say, "if they are doing this to sealies then no downworlder is safe", Clary says.

We ended up getting both the werewolf's and the vampires to help us, we walk towards the downworlder entrance before splitting up into groups, I go with my brother and Clary. We see something in the distance, Jace draws a sight rune on Clary making her gasp at something, both me and Jace activate our runes to see Alec in the front guiding Meliord to his death, "dammit", Jace says before handing me 10 bucks, Clary does the same, "Lydia must have sent him", I say, "Lydia", Clary asks, "Alec's fiancé", Jace says, "but I though-", "yeah so did I but I guess I was wrong", I snap, "just say the word and we will call this whole thing off", Clary says, "no, there is no turning back now", Jace says.

We get to the entrance before Alec and hide before seeing him walk in alone with Meliord meaning the others got rid of the guards, he draws a rune on the pole which opens up the entrance, Meliord catches my eye and winks, "Alec", Clary calls making him stop, me and Jace appear behind him, "you told me you were taking Clary to the institute, you lied", Alec says, "you lied to Sarah, plus I did what needed to be done", Jace says, Alec's eyes flicker to me as I keep a cold hard stare, "Alec the clave has gone too far", I say as Clary joins us, "you have to see that please just let him go", Clary says, "I have my orders", Alec says, "you and your dam orders, who cares about orders", Clary snaps, "see that's how little you know about being a Shadowhunter, you don't understand-", Alec says, "yeah well at least she doesn't go and back stab the people she cares about", I snap cutting Alec off, "and it's you don't understand Alec, not this time", Jace says. Alec goes to bring Meliord to the silent brothers but Jace knocks Alec down, "Clary get Meliord out of here", Jace screams, the two run out leaving me, my brother and my ex boyfriend, the two fight, and Jace knocks Alec down, "you always broke the rules but never the law, not till she showed up", Alec say, "you had it out for Clary from the beginning and now your getting married, really Alec we all know what this is about and what about Sarah, you broke her heart Alec that's unforgivable", Jace says, Alec flips Jace over and holds a blade to his throat but I push Alec off and help my brother up. Alec sits on the ground deep in thought realizing what he did, he almost killed his Parabati, we stand over Alec, "come with us, we'll fight Valentine the right way", Jace says, Alec looks up at us, "we'll become traitors like mom and dad", Alec says, "Alec I'm begging you my friend, my brother, my parabiti, come with us", Jace says, "no", Alec says, me and Jace walk away from Alec.

I make my way back to back to Magnus's, "so", he ask, I roll my eyes and walk to my room Magnus let me use before closing and locking the door. All my emotions built up finally got released and I burst out into sobs dropping to the floor in the middle of the room, "pumpkin", I hear Magnus call, I keep crying, soon I felt someone wrap their arms around me, "shh pumpkin don't cry", I hear Magnus whisper. I continue to sob, burying my head into his chest, "ok ok your going to be ok", he says when I start to calm down, he lifts up my chin, "hey smile, prove to me that no matter what your a Shadowhunter and nothing stands in your way, not even ex-boyfriends", he says making me laugh, "see there's that smile and just so you know, your welcome to stay for as long as you want", he says, "thank you Magnus", I say, "my pressure", he says. Just then Chairman Meow jumps onto my lap, he purrs against my chest, "see even Chairman is trying to make you better", Magnus says, "thank you Chairman", I say petting his back, "and thank you Magnus", I hug him, "my pleasure, now your welcome to stay for as long as you need or whenever just give me a call", he says, "I think I'll stay the night and then check by the institute tomorrow", I say, "alright I'll leave you, goodnight Sarah Wayland", he says, "night Magnus Bane", I respond as he closed the door. I pick up Chairman before placing him on the bed, I get under the covers as Chairman snuggles beside me, "night Chairman", I say before sleep takes over.
