Chapter four

Lily's POV

Again nothing! I cursed as William hoisted himself up. I didn't let his hand go as I tried to make a connection through our hands but I was coming up to a very very strong mental wall.

Who was this kid?

I knew he wasn't human, that was plainly obvious. He seemed like he didn't belong in school, like he belonged in a different time maybe? Or a different universe even?

In any case, as we walked through the halls people were starting to stare at our entwined hands. I shrugged the comments and stares off like they were nothing and continued to my locker, where William waited for me.

"Promise me I'll get my turn." He demanded smirking and I couldn't stop the giggle that escaped my lips. Fuck sake, I keep giggling. Lily Dark does not 'giggle' let alone make promises.

But he was different. I felt the need to please him and not in the sexual way, the way you want someone to be happy. Which should be unnatural to me but no. It wasn't apparently.

Why is it Theodor leaves when I need him most?

"I promise." I smiled before taking what I need and shutting my locker. We walked to his locker in silence and as I waited I saw one of Evan's friends and was reminded about the big show down.

"Can you come cheer for me?" I batted my eyelashes to William who raised and eyebrow at me. "For the fight between Evan and I?"

"Oh," William shut his locker and frowned, "if he hurts you, I may kill him." He said so seriously and a shiver went up my spine.

That's more like it.

"Don't worry, Evan's got nothing on me." I dragged him out to the front yard and saw a huge crowd there waiting for me.

If there was one thing I did right, it was making an entrance.

"Hold my bag will you?" I gave it to William who was glaring at Evan, who despite the cold, had his shirt off. Why was I even flirting with him in the first place?

Courtney came rushing towards me as I strode towards Evan. Ryan went and stood next to William.

"Lily I swear, if you go through with this Theo is going to be mega pissed!" She whispered fiercely and I shrugged her off.

"He'll live, besides his gone to go help daddy. He won't be back for at least two months so relax." I smiled and she tried to protest but clever Ryan pulled her away, muttering something like 'there is no point in arguing with her'.

I always knew Ryan wasn't that stupid.

"Well, well, well," Evan placed his hands on his hips, "Look who decided to show up?"

"Well, well, well," I countered stepping into the circle, "Look who needs to work on his abs?" I smiled and everyone laughed.

Evan's smile didn't even flinch at my comment, "Ready to fight little girl?" He taunted and I stopped dead.

If there was one thing I hated, it was being called a little girl. And I guess he knew it from my face. In the background I could hear Courtney yelling for me to be the bigger person. Yeah fat chance of that happening.

"What's the matter little girl? Are you scared to play with the big boys?" He mocked.

"You have five seconds to back off before you are lying face down on the ground." I spat and everyone went dead silent. I never lost my cool in a fight, whether it be verbal or physical. I tried to calm down the fire, the burn to light him up into flames.
