"But I'm just not good enough,"
Hearing how Camila felt brought huge amounts of sadness for Lauren and just picturing what she was like before, when she was younger and even more vulnerable.
"You're more than good enough, you're everything," Lauren said, dabbing at the thankfully small cuts and scratches on the younger girls arm. "And for whoever made you feel that you were not good enough, forget it, what they're saying is irrelevant, full stop," The older girl spoke, covering one of Camila's hands with both of hers.
"If my parents accepted me then I would've been at home and instead of Sofi being at her friends house, she could've been with me, then she would not need to walk back and cross the road," Camila whispered.
"But you don't know that, Camila, you can't blame yourself for this, it is not your fault, even though you may feel like it is, it is not," Lauren defiantly said, pulling the covers up over the younger girl whose cheeks were tear stained and eyes puffy.
"I'll be right back," Lauren said before quickly running to the kitchen and filling a glass with water then grabbing a bottle of aloe vera from the bathroom cupboard before returning to the fragile girl.
"Drink something," The green eyed girl told Camila, handing her the glass. "And hold out your arm, this will probably sting a little bit," Lauren warned before rubbing some aloe vera in her palms and then applying it onto the brown eyed girls arm.
"Ow," Camila mumbled, gripping onto the bed sheet with her other hand.
"Sorry," Lauren said, making her motions more gentle and softer. "There, done. Wasn't too bad was it?" The older girl said, smiling however Camila just slightly moved her head.
Lauren placed the aloe vera on the cabinet next to her and got underneath the covers next to Camila, finding the younger girls hand under the covers and intertwining their fingers.
"Camz?" Lauren asked after about five minutes of the two girls laying in silence.
"Hmm?"
"I love you," The green eyed girl whispered, hoping for some sort of reaction from the younger girl but unfortunately, all Camila did was weakly smile and shift slightly so that she was more cuddled up into Lauren's side. Another ten minutes went by, both girl feeling slightly sleepy but it was only five thirty so neither were ready to properly sleep.
"I love you too, a lot," Camila whispered into the air, the words kind of lingering there and making a smile appear on Lauren's face. Both dozed off for a bit, feeling stressed and more so Camila, upset.
Slowly opening her eyes, Lauren glanced at the younger girl next to her who looked as if she was sleeping peacefully so the green eyed girl lifted up Camila's arm, frowning out how red it had become and littered kisses all over it.
"What are you doing?" Camila suddenly spoke, her tired voice appearing in the room.
"Nothing, sorry," Lauren quickly said, laying back down however Camila mumbled something that she didn't catch.
"Pardon?" The green eyed girl questioned.
"Carry on, it feels nice," Camila whispered, closing her eyes again with a small smile on her face as Lauren continued pressing gentle kisses on her arm.
The brown eyed girl slowly drifted back to sleep and when Lauren was sure of this, she stood up and moved over to her desk, flipping her laptop open and loading up Google.
Courses for becoming a doctor
Pressing enter, an untold amount of search results came spiralling through for courses in local schools and centres and the kind of things that you should begin to study, including a range of high priced books. Sighing, Lauren pressed the first link which loaded up a page for Cowell Medical School. Grabbing a notepad, the green eyed girl began to read through the website, noticing that they had some open days soon to start enrolling for a new term after Christmas.
