My fingers moved swiftly over the keyboard putting the finishing touches on a letter. It was almost one and my stomach felt tight. I had 3 minutes left, I had to print the letter and make my way to the restaurant.
I picked up the letter from the printer. Ethan looked at me weirdly as I tried my best not to make eye contact. I had to make sure not to look at him he was like a mind reader.
"Cassabelle...you have been acting really weird. What's the matter?" He questioned.
"Nothing." I answered as smoothly as possible.
"You said that already. Is something wrong?" He asked touching my hand. I was tempted to look at him but resisted the urge.
"Nothing is wrong." Said coolly pulling my hand away.
"I know something is wrong, you have never resisted my touch. Belle are you going through depression..." Is he serious? Depression? "I read that sometimes after women have babies they go into deep depression so...Is that happening to you? Because if that's the case I can get you a good therapist. We will get through this together." He was standing behind me.
"I am not depressed I just have a lot on my mind." I said.
"You can talk to me if you want to." He kissed my hair.
"I know. I am going to lunch I will be back soon." I said and pulled myself from his embrace.
"Can I join you?" He asked as I was walking away. What do I say?
"We're going to discuss menstruation, tampons etc. get the drift." I should have become a lawyer.
"Yes think I'll stay here eat my lunch and finish my work. Have a good lunch." He said as I exited his office.
I went back to my office and gathered my things. I told Tyrone I had a meeting but he had to wait outside for me. He was adamant on coming in with me so I lied that I was meeting a friend to discuss menstruation and he back away without argument. Why are men so scared to discuss menstruation? It's like cats when they see dogs they run the other way. So in fact men are like cat sometimes.
So here I am sitting in Pablo's 10 minutes after one. So I admit I was a tad bit late but this woman should have been here waiting. Patience was never my best value.
Where is this woman? I don't like to be kept waiting.
I looked at the glass door were Tyrone had his hands folded and waiting. I sipped the lemonade I had ordered when I came in. So I am sitting here waiting feeling a bit hungry. I waved my hand to a waitress to get her attention. She stumbled over to me quickly, chewing her gum and popping gum.
"Hi I'm Tina, I'll be your waitress." She said with a drawl. "Do you want a refill on your drink?" She asked rolling her eyes. Serious attitude problem.
"Ah...no I would like to order the turkey sandwich with no tomato and a lot of mayonnaise." I said in one breath with a smile. "Oh and a slice of cheese cake and devil's chocolate cake." I finished the cakes weren't for me.
"Okay so turkey sandwich no red stuff a lot of white stuff, cheese cake and chocolate cake? Are you pregnant?" She asked taking me off guard.
"Uh...no just had a baby. Why do you ask?" I questioned her.
"The cakes. But you don't look like you had a baby." She smiled scanning me.
"A lot of people say that." I smiled.
"Alright I'll get your sandwich and cakes." She smiled and stumbled off. Still no sign of this Mandy woman. I honestly don't know what she looks like. She must be a beauty knowing Ethan's taste and maybe a blonde like me.
