-Scarlett's POV-
I was sitting alone in my room watching a film at around eleven forty-five at night, when I heard a knock on my window. I immediately sat up and paused what I was watching. Another knock came from my window. I pulled off the covers and stood up. My bare feet walked slowly and quietly toward the window. I peered through the warm glass and looked to see if anyone was around. "BOO!" Someone yelled from the other side. I jumped back and grabbed my chest when I fell on my feet. I looked to see who it was. Brandon was standing there laughing.
I opened the window for him, "Jesus Brandon! Don't do that!" I whisper yelled.
He jumped into my room and faced me, "Sorry, didn't mean to." I glared at him, which made him laugh. "Okay I totally meant to."
I turned around to close the window. "What are you doing here so late anyway?"
"I just wanted to come and talk to you. Haven't seen you much all of Holiday."
We both sat on my bed, "Honestly I haven't done much on holiday."
"That's a lie. You've been spending time with Tyde."
I shrugged, "We've hung out twice. That's all. Why are you jealous?" I nudged him.
"A little bit because I'm supposed to be you're only friend!" He faked cried.
I hit him with a pillow which made both of us laugh.
"Let's go outside. Don't want to wake anyone up."
The both of us tip toed through the house and made it to my backyard. We both sat down on a porch swing and sat there.
"So how has holiday been so far anyway?"
"It's been good actually. I met Tyde's family, we had an amazing dinner, then after we just talked and listened to music. A few days ago I went to the beach with him and his family."
"How was that?" He brought his knees up to his chest.
I nodded and smiled, "It was...great."
"What happened?" Brandon sat up.
"Tyde and I kissed."
Brandon gasped. "WHAT HOW? TELL ME EVERYTHING!"
I laughed and told him the story. "I knew you had a thing for him." Brandon said when it was all over, "You guys are my favorite couple."
"We're not even dating. At least I don't think so."
"What? You guys confessed your feelings for eachother and you're not even going to ask him out on a date?"
"I've never had a boyfriend before. So I don't really know what to do."
Brandon understood what I was saying. After just hanging out outside it was beginning to get cold.
We both went back to my room and watched the rest of the film I was watching. About thirty minutes in I paused it and looked up at Brandon.
He looked down at me. His green eyes looked big and concerned through his think brown glasses. "Why'd you come here tonight?" I whispered.
He looked down, "I don't want to talk about it." He whispered back.
"Brandon..."
He looked at me and his eyes began to water, "Scarlett. I'm...I'm gay."
The words struck me. I was so happy for him. Troye and Connor told me how hard it was to come out to people. And now I understand by seeing Brandon come out to me. I gave him a hug, "I'm so proud of you." I said in his ear. It only made him cry more, "Why are you crying?"
He pulled away from me and wiped away his tears, "Because you're the only one I've come out to, that's actually accepted me."
"What do you mean Brandon?" I held his hand.
"I came out to my dad right before I got here. He said I was a disgrace and that he would never accept me if I was anything other than straight." He wept, "He kicked me out of the house and told me I could come back when I get over this phase in my life."
"But it's not a phase. You are who you are Brandon. You just don't wake up one day and just decide your sexuality."
"I know. But he doesn't seem to get that. Now I have no where to go."
Brandon was going through a lot right now. His dad was the only family he had, besides his older sister, since his mum passed away a year ago. Brandon was always scared of his dad, so he said. Told me he used to beat the crap out of him and his older sister when they were younger, and still did occasionally. I knew I needed to help him out.
"What about you're sister? Can't you stay with her?"
"She's doesn't get back from Sydney for another week."
"You can stay here with us." I said. "Until your sister comes back."
He shook his head, "No I can't. You're parents will send me back."
"Who said they had to find out?"
"What?" He sniffled.
"You can stay here with me in my room. When we go to school just sneak out the window and go to the front door."
"That's smart. Thank you so much."
"You're welcome."
I pressed play on the movie and we cuddled up next to eachother. Luckily the bed was big enough for the both of us.
We both ended up falling asleep at around one in the morning. It's weird how so much could happen in just one hour.
