-Tyde's POV-
I woke up the next morning in bed with Scarlett. She was still asleep when I faced her. I realized that it was around six in the morning and I had to get ready for school. I got out of bed and looked for my boxers, pants, and shirt. I'm happy I didn't change out of my uniform yesterday.
Quickly I changed and opened the window slightly. I heard a noise coming from the bed and realized that Scarlett was barely waking up. "Tyde?" She whispered. I glanced at her and walked towards the bed.
"Yeah baby its me." I told her.
"Where are you going?"
"I have to leave for school remember?"
"Don't leave me." Scarlett opened her eyes slowly.
"But I have to, or my parents will notice I was gone." I put my hand on her forehead and moved her hair aside. "I'll see you at school."
I gave her one last kiss before I snuck out of the window and headed for my car.-Scarlett's POV-
I sat up in bed after Tyde left and closed the window. I was still naked so I grabbed Tydes giant tshirt and out it on. I walked out of my room and went into the bathroom to wash my face, brush my teeth, and comb my hair. When I was done, I went back to my room and got ready for school. I finished a lot earlier than I usually do so I went into the kitchen to make breakfast.
Joshua and Kate were there eating breakfast. "Good morning sweet pea." Kate said.
I smiled, "Morning."
"How are you feeling? Mason said you were feeling pretty sick." Joshua added.
"Better, feeling a lot better."
"There's breakfast on the table if you want to eat." I nodded and served myself a plate of eggs with some sausages. I sat down at the table with Joshua, he was watching the news.
"That's weird, you're up early." He said.
"I went to sleep like at nine, because of my headache."
"Albany police officers are searching for a missing teenage fugitive." The new announcer said.
"Joshua turn the volume up please." Kate said as she sat down. Joshua did what he was told.
"Officers are looking for fifteen year old, Jade Peterson, who escaped Albany juvenile detention center in late October." I looked up at the television and saw my mug shots appear on the screen.
"Peterson was put in jail at ten years old with two accounts of murder. The people she killed, her mum and dad. If you have any information, please contact Albany police."
Joshua turned off the television, "What kind of person does that. Kills both their parents at such a young age, must be crazy." He said.
My heart stopped and I put my fork down. "Why is that crazy?" I asked.
"Well because a kid shouldn't be thinking about murder. If she had the nerve to kill her parents something must have not been right."
"What if she did the first murder in self defense?"
"That's different, but the second one?"
"She could have dropped the gun and hit someone."
"You'd have to drop it a certain way for that to happen Scarlett."
"Why the sudden interest?" Kate asked.
I shrugged, "Being a detective sounds interesting, so I just did what a detective would do." I said with a smile.***
I walked into school and saw Tyde standing in front of my locker. He smiled when he saw me, "Hey." He said.
"Hi." I kissed his cheek, "How did you sleep?" I asked as I began to open my locker.
"Pretty good actually. Did anyone hear us by the way?"
I laughed, "No I don't think Mason did. My parents got home earlier this morning, they stayed at work late. Did anyone hear you get back home?"
He shook his head, "Troye saw me walking into my bedroom, I just told him I went to the bathroom."
"Smart move." I took my English notebook and Hebrew notebooks out.
"Oh, there's something I've been meaning to ask you."
I closed my locker, "What is it?"
"So, the school dance is coming up in a few days."
"Oh right, I forgot about that."
"I was wondering, if maybe, you'd like to go with me?"
I smiled an nodded, "Of course I'll go with you."
Tyde leaned over and kissed me lightly on my lips, he smirked, "I'll see you later." I leaned up against my locker and bit my bottom lip. The bell rang and went right to class.
I sat down in my usual sit in my English class and took out my notebook. Someone sat in the seat next to me, "Wow you came to school." I looked over and saw Tanya glaring at me angrily.
"Of course I did, why wouldn't I?" I asked as I grabbed a pencil.
"Because then you'd have to see Tyde."
"We cleared things up. We're back together."
"For now."
"What the hell is your problem? Ever since I came here you have done nothing but try to ruin everything for me."
"I don't trust you, Scarlett."
"Why not?"
"You just show up in the middle of the year mysteriously. No one really knows anything about you, and you never share anything about yourself."
"I'm a private person." I snapped.
"We'll see about that."***
-Tanyas POV-
"Hey Tan!" Julia called when I got out of third period.
I sat down next to her, "Hey." I mumbled.
"What's up?"
"Nothing. Tyde and Scarlett are fine now."
"What?"
"Yeah, Scarlett told me today in English."
"That slut. She just can't let him go."
"I know. I thought this plan was going to work. Make Scarlett mad at Tyde, them break up, and then Tyde and I could get back together." I groaned.
"You can still break them up." Julia insisted.
"How?"
"By exposing her biggest secret."
"She won't tell us anything dumbass. She doesn't even tell Tyde shit, you heard him." I sighed and took my phone out of my backpack. My phone had a notification about the news:15 Year Old Girl Escapes Albany Juvenile Detention Center.
Jade Peterson was arrested in 2010 for the murder of her parents. Danielle and Nicholas Peterson were found dead in their kitchen on the 18th or February in 2010. Their daughter, Jade, was at the center of the crime scene.
Thay night, officials arrested the, (at the time) 10 year old girl and sent her behind bars for 15 - 18 years. Then suddenly on October 27th, Jade escaped. Albany police are on the search for her.
If you have any information, you are to contact Albany police right away. The article had mug shots of the girl appear at the end of it to show her face. I gasped. "What is it?" Julia asked. I showed her the pictures.
"Hey that looks like..."
"Yup." I exited the article, "I think we just uncovered her biggest secret."
"But how do we know it's her for sure?"
"Who else does she hang out with?"
"That Brandon kid. The gay one that got shot over holiday! He's my neighbour."
"Is he still in the hospital?"
Julia nodded, "Yeah, he hasn't come home yet."
I stood up and grabbed my bag, "Julia, let's go get some information."
