-Scarlett's POV-

It was now Monday morning. The first day of school after holiday, and I was dreading it. I lugged myself out of bed and put on my boring school uniform that I absolutely hated. I tied my sneakers and grabbed my backpack before heading out the door. School starts at seven forty-five and and it was only seven. I grabbed an apple and waited patiently for Mason to get up and drive me to class. I began eating my apple when my phone buzzed. I picked it up.
Tyde: Good morning beautiful, see you at school.
I rolled my eyes and smiled, I didn't reply to him though because Mason had walked out of his room already.
"Hey, stop texting your boyfriend and hurry up. We're going to be late." He said.
"Okay, here's your breakfast." I tossed him an apple and followed him out to the car.

I walked to my locker and took out my English notebook, since that was my first class. Brandon usually met me at my locker but there was no sign of him. He must be running late. I closed my locker door, "Hey Scarlett." I looked up and saw Tyde walking over to me. Luke, Tanya, and Julia were walking behind him.
The three of them kind of gave me a smug look. I knew they all hated me, they still called me a freak but I didnt care. Tyde kissed my cheek which snapped me out of my thoughts. "Hi, how are you?"
I smiled, "I'm good, thank you."
"Aw, what an adorable couple. I could puke." Luke said.
"Luke, cut it out. Sorry." Tyde apologized.
"That's okay, I should really get to class." I wasn't comfortable hanging out with Tyde's friends.
"Okay, I'll see you in science?" I nodded and began walking to class.
"Scarlett wait up." Someone called behind me. I turned around, Tanya was running over to me.
"Hi Tanya."
"Hey, since we have the same class together. I thought I'd walk with you." It was kind of odd Tanya wanted to walk to class with me, but I didn't mind.
"So you and Tyde. How's the relationship?"
I nodded, "Its pretty good. He's really sweet and knows how to treat a girl."
She laughed, "Yeah, he sure does."
"What?" I glanced over at her.
"We went out last year. For about two months. He was really sweet up until we hooked up."
"What happened after that?"
"The next day he saw me, he broke up with me. Said we were better off seeing other people or some shit like that." I just kept looking at her. "I know that's just keyword for bad sex but whatever. Hopefully he doesn't do that to you sweetie." She smiled and opened the door to Mr. Smith's class.

I walked into Science and sat down in my seat. Brandon still hadn't come to class. Was he sick? I looked around and found one of his friends.
"Hey Kyle." I said.
Kyle looked up from his paper, "Scarlett, what's up." Brandon was staying with him, so I knew he'd know where Brandon would be.
"Where's Brandon?"
"He didn't come to school today?"
I shook my head, "No."
"That's weird, I saw him leave the house today."
"Wait, you didn't leave with him."
"No, he said he had zero period." I turned around to face the board. Where could he be? I wasn't going to waste my time sitting here just thinking. I picked up all my things and walked out of the classroom. I pushed by a group of people, "Hey watch out." One of them mumbled.
"Scarlett, Scarlett hey!" I looked back and saw Tyde running over to me.
"What are you doing Tyde?" I asked.
"I could ask you the same thing. Why are you skipping class?"
I got to my locker and put all of the books in my hand away. I slammed my locker door and faced Tyde.
"Brandon didn't come to school today."
Tyde shrugged, "And?"
"Tyde, I'm worried about him."
"Calm down, he must've gone back to your house. He'll be there after school."
I just stood there and nodded after a while, "Yeah. You're right." I grabbed my books and walked back to class with him. After the bell had rang.

Tyde offered to drive me home and help look for Brandon. I said yes to the ride but no to him helping me find Brandon. I didn't want him getting hurt or possibly killed. But of course Tyde wouldn't let that happen.
Tyde and I walked into my house. He sat in the living room and I went into the bedroom. I threw my backpack on the floor and put on a pair of jeans along a black tshirt. My phone began to ring, it was Brandon. I was texting him all day.
"Hello? Brandon."
"Scarlett...hi." He whispered.
"Oh my god, where the hell are you?! I've been worried sick!"
"I know, I know. I saw your texts. I'm at my house."
"What?"
"I needed to get the rest of my clothes so I came over. I thought no one was home but my dad is here."
"Okay, okay. I'll be over right now."
I hung up the phone and ran over to Tyde. "He's at his house. But we need to get there, quick."
