"I'm never going to find it, the dress isn't here" I groan as I come out of the dressing room for the 5th time wearing just a robe.
"You'll find it Delilah, what are you looking for?" Becky questions.
"I dont, I just need to look at it and know, something that won't only take my breath away but take away Brendons too." I look through the dresses. I pull out a dress that is a mermaid style gown with lacy sleeves.
"I like this one" I take it to the dressing room and pull it on. I look it over a bunch and I'm in love, I walk out of the room and show my two best friends.
"Delilah, its gorgeous" Beth gasps, coming up to me and spinning me around before looking at the price tag. "Oh..." she says sadly.
"How much?" I ask worried.
"Its enough to pay for the wedding...twice" she cringes looking at me in the mirror.
"Perfect. The one dress I love is too expensive...we'll just have to keep looking." I sigh.
I go back to the dressing room and slide off the dress and I put my robe back on.
I go back to the rows of dresses, looking at big poofy ones and tiny little ones, ones with the heart shape neck line and ones with straps, thats when I pull out a beautiful dress and I gasp then before I get too attached I look at the price...its right in my price range!
"This is it. This is the dress" I tell Beth as I pull from the railing.
"Delilah, its beautiful" she sighs happily. (See picture)
I try it on and it fits perfectly. I pick up the long skirt and carry myself out to the podium and turn to look at the mirror.
"I'm in love" I tear up.
"You look amazing" Becky smiles widely. "Let me get a picture!!" She stands and takes a quick picture, setting her phone down.
"I'm getting married in this dress" I clap.
"You are." Beth agrees.
I take off the dress and give it to the one of the ladies so she can put it on a clothes protector whilst I pay for it with the special credit card Brendon gave specifically for wedding things only, this would be the first thing I bought.
After I dropped Beth and Becky off I go home with a shit eating grin.
"Well?" Brendon asks. I hold the clothes protector up and smile biting my lip.
"This is it. This is the dress" I nod.
"Finally, its been 2 weeks of you searching. I'm so excited to see it"
"Thats not for a year so hold your horses" I poke his nose as I speak and then take my dress to the bedroom and hang it in the closest.
I run downstairs to find Brendon back to being nose deep in his work.
"Is this all you have been doing all day Bren?" I ask sitting down next to him.
"Yeah...why?" He says not looking at me.
"I dont...we've just been engaged for almost a month and we haven't done anything together for the wedding."
"I know D...Im just in the middle of summer classes. Its a lot of grading and fixing grades...you seem to be doing a lot of the work by yourseld pretty well." He looks up for a second.
"All I've done is buy my dress...theres a million things to be done" I explain.
"We have over a year D." He looks back up taking my hands in his.
"Theres a lot to do, I know...but theres only one more week of summer school then I am all yours" he looks me in the eyes.
"Promise?" I ask.
"Promise" I answer.
