"Happy birthday Bren!" Delilah shouts as they bring my cake into the dining area.
"Shh. Not so loud. No one needs to know I'm 27..." I cringe.
"Whats so wrong with 27?" She asks.
"I'm old." I groan.
"Old? No. Youre not old baby." She shakes her head.
"But your just 19 years old. Its dawned on me that Im 27 marrying a 19 year old"
"And thats a bad thing?" She questions.
"No." I grab her hand. "Of course not, your age doesn't matter to me. Its just...I don't know...weird for me"
"Brendon, you were 25 when we started dating and I was only 17. It didn't seem to bother you then...besides, I'll be 20 by the time we get married." She explains.
"I know...I just think about how I'll be in my 30s when youre still in your early 20s"
"Thats enough Brendon. Our age difference has nothing to do with our love so just stop please" she orders and I nod. "Its your birthday. And I have a surprise for you!" She shouts. Just then I see all my friends from LA. Dallon, Kenny, Dan and...Spencer??
"Spenc?" I question standing up.
"Brendon. Its great to see you man." He hugs me.
"Dude, its been years...how did you-?" I turn to Delilah.
"I know you've been missing him so I tracked him down. Wasn't so hard, I contacted him on Facebook. He was so excited to see you again. My question is why you two didn't try earlier to do this?" She tells me.
"I-I didn't think he wanted to see me again" I sit back down after hugging the rest of them.
"Why wouldn't I? You were my best friend Brendon." Spencer says.
"I don't know...we were high school friends, I figured after you left we just drifted" I shrug.
"Well that doesn't matter. I'm here for your 27th all because of your lovely fiancée." He pats my shoulder.
"Yeah, thank you so much D. This is the best present ever...not just because of Spencer but because of the other guys too." I turn to Delilah.
"Anything for you Bren" she smiles.
"Its great to see you guys...I thought I wasn't going to see you again till the wedding." I cheese.
"Which reminds me...Spencer is coming to the wedding." Delilah says and my eyes go wide.
"What? Really?! Thats awesome. Hell yes." I shout and I hear them laugh at my outburst.
"As a grooms men...if you want of course" Delilah adds. "I have everything set up if you say yes"
"Of course. Yes." I agree.
After 2 hours of catching up and making jokes and drinking...a lot and eating that whole cake we decide to call it a night.
Delilah drives us home because I am too drunk to drive, even though I insisted I wasn't, she was not buying it.
"Delilah, thank you so much for tonight! Youre just...like the best" I gurggle to her as we get inside.
"You're very welcome." She says helping me to the bedroom. "Time for bed" she sets me down on the bed.
"Youre the best fiancée...a...guy couldask for. I'm soo luckkkkyy to be...be marrying you" I hiccup.
"Thank you Bren. I'm lucky to be marrying you too...go to sleep now" she orders.
"I can't" I groan.
"Why?" She smiles down at me.
"Because....if I close my eyes I won't get to stare at you and thats not okay for me. Because I need to be looking at you...always." I pull at her shirt.
"I think youll be okay Bren...go to sleep please"
"I can't" I laugh. "I still have regular clothes on" I laugh more.
"What if I helped you put on some bed clothes?"
"Then...maybe" I shrug.
"Okay but I'm only helping this one time" she smiles, pulling off my shirt.
"Thanks" is all I say. I unbutton my pants and she pulls them off, I fall backwards on the bed and close my eyes and fall asleep.
