Chapter 33

"Brendon?" I gasp, my voice cracks at the sight of him kissing another woman. He pulls away, pushing the woman and turning to me.
"Delilah...I..." he says with desperation in his voice.
"Stay...away from me" I cry and run out, down the hall and outside, I can hear his footsteps behind me but I ignore him.
"Delilah, listen" he pulls my arm and I spin to look at him.
"What should I listen to? You just cheated on me, with....who was she?" I shout whilst crying.
"My ex girlfriend...I haven't seen her in 6 years, she kissed me, it was impulsive, it meant nothing"
"It didn't look like nothing" I wipe tears away. "How could you do this to me?"
"I didn't do anything...it was stupid and I fucked up, she..."
"I don't want to hear anything...." I pause and then gasp in realization. "That was Sarah wasn't it? The woman you were in love with all through college? The one you told me about?" I ask and he nods, running his fingers through his hair.
"I didn't mean to hurt you D...I just...I'm sorry, it meant nothing, she means nothing"
"Just...leave me alone" I pull away and go to my car, I drive off as fast as I possibly can. I pull my phone out and dial Ashley's number.
"Delilah!" she shouts.
"Can I...come stay with you, Brendon...he-" I can't finish my sentence because I start crying.
"Oh my god, of course."
"Thank you, I...I can't be around him right now" I wipe my eyes.
"I'll see you soon" she says worried and I hang up.

Once I get home I go to the bedroom and put some things together whilst crying. How could he do this? Why would he do this? I thought he loved me.
"Delilah! Stop it. Please, let me talk" Brendon comes in, running into the bedroom.
"You've done enough talking Brendon, you kissed her and thats all that matters" I yell, putting clothes in to a bag. He comes over to me and grabs me by the wrists and looks at me.
"Delilah, just listen to me. I love you so so much, I would never do anything to hurt you, ever. These past 4 months have been the best of my life and I know it hasn't been that long but I know I want you forever, you're everything to me. I didn't kiss Sarah, she kissed me even after I told her I was with you. You have to listen to me" he orders, I pull away and sit down for a second.
"I just...I don't know. To see you kissing her, it hurt really bad."
"How can I convince you it wasn't me who kissed her?" he questions.
"I could tell you" another voice chimes in. I look past Brendon, its Sarah.
"Sarah?" Brendon questions. I stand up and move myself closer to Brendon.
"He didn't kiss me, I kissed him...its just when I saw him...I-I got some feelings back that shouldn't have come back. Delilah, I am so sorry" she says and I roll my eyes.
"How did you get here?" Brendon asks.
"I followed you here" she replies.
"So, you kissed him? You kissed someone else's boyfriend after he told you I was with him. What is wrong with you?" my anger starts to come out. "Brendon isn't with you anymore, he's moved on. You broke up with him. You can't just drop yourself back in his life without any thought of who you might be affecting. Brendon is mine now, not yours." I move in closer and she backs up. "I think you should leave and if you see Brendon again, ignore him like he doesn't exist because he doesn't in your world!!!" I go to hit her just out of anger and Brendon pull my hand back.
"I'm sorry, I didn't..."
"You weren't thinking, just go Sarah. Before you make things worse" Brendon warns her. She nods and runs out to her car and moments later we hear her car drive off.
"Believe me now?" Brendon asks.
"Bren...I believed you when you said you didn't kiss her, but it hurt me so much I couldn't stand to be around either of you...Brendon you've helped me so much sense we got together and all I could think was you kissing her and then being with her and I would have nowhere to go. I don't want to lose you. I got worried" I shake my head.
"You won't lose me, I love you too much to let you go." he hugs me tight and I hug him back.
