Before Grayson left, he implied that he'll be at his brother, Ethan's house. They hadn't seen each other in a few and Grayson had really missed him.
After a couple hours had passed, I figured I'll stop by to get out of the house for once other than going to the café.
I see his sweater. My favorite sweater, The 1-800 sweater. I pull it over my white tank top and slip on my white vans. I then walk through the door and head towards where Grayson sent me directions to. I had sent him a message telling him that I was gonna stop by.
As I walk towards the house, I can see Grayson standing outside, a different hoodie over his head this time. When he left he had on a grey hoodie, but now he has on a white one. I quickly walk towards him and wrap my hands around his neck, his body becoming tense before I kiss him; the kiss stops short before he pushes me away.
"Grayson, what was that for?" I question, before I kiss him again. A sound is heard in the background, someone clearing their throat.
"Gracie, why are y-you," his voice stops before he abruptly leaves.
"Wait, you weren't Grayson?" I question, averting my eyes towards the man who I had thought was Grayson.
"No, why do you think I pushed you away? I'm his brother, Ethan. Now go after him, he gets heartbroken easily," Ethan informs me, his fingers running through the loose strands of hair; his hoodie is pulled back from his head, lips wrapping around a cigarette.
"Smoking is bad for you," I imply as I start walking away, following where Grayson had ran.
"S'a metaphor, see; You put the killing thing right between your teeth, but you don't give it the power to do its killing. It's a quote from John Green, his books can be quiet powerful."
I nod my head and turn back around to follow Grayson's footsteps, he was heading back home.
As I make my way back home, Grayson is unable to be found. I call his name, I check every room and I even call his phone, which went straight to voicemail.
My first instinct was to go to the Café, that's where he always goes when I can't find him. I head out the door, the cool fresh air hitting my face. A few strands of hair becoming loose from my ponytail. I walk towards the Café which is only a few blocks away. I push the door open, the wind blowing a few napkins from its previous spots on tables and counters. Some eyes focused on me due to the ringing bell that sounded when the door opened.
Shelly was sitting on top of Grayson in our corner, kissing him and running her hands through his hair. She straddled his lap and due to her appearance, she want working today. The green apron not wrapped around her waist, and the lack of makeup showed that she wasn't working.
My blood boiled and I couldn't even function properly. Why would he do this? I know I accidentally kissed his brother, but that doesn't give him the right to come to Shelly and actually cheat on me. I can feel the tears in my eyes threatening to spill, and the feeling in my throat, as if it was closing around my words, suffocating them.
