The next morning,I expected the wrong thing. I thought that as soon as I would walk down coming to the kitchen,I would see mom and Austin sitting together drinking coffee and eating toast! Who knows what things they might've talked about?

He could have convinced her with what he wants to happen! I've known the guy for a long time,I know how he deals with things;Peace Talk.

" Miss Catherine Sue Livingstone!"

Mom busts in behind me,noticing what could have been the reason that I've been secretly and quietly snooping in the kitchen.

"You know you could always open the fridge whenever you get hungry right? Don't be immature. You're not a fat seven-year old kid who still tip-toes going to the fridge to get some food at midnight just so her mom would'nt find out and give her the ultimate diet!" She yelps out. Her arms held unto her hips.

"What? No! I'm not creeping in the fridge like a seven-year old! Its not that!"

"Then what are you possibly doing aside from what I just said? C'mmon! Give me ya best shot!" She challenges me with her slight pirate voice.

I let out a deep sigh, preparing to open my mouth and spill out the truth.

"Okay fine,I thought you were in the kitchen with Austin talking about the wedding,or even maybe talking about something that you're keeping from me." I reveal.

"Austin? Why would you think Austin would come here? Did something happen? What happened at work?"

"Too many questions, only a single answer. I just busted in his office yesterday at work, and I asked him if he agrees with the marriage thing. That's it!"

"So,What did he say?"

"Totally fine with it! Well,no. He didn't exactly say that directly to me but, there is a connection. It sort of means 'yes' in a way."

Mom rolled her eyeballs. As if she'd heard about me begging her for jellybeans when I was little. I missed that face though.

"Okay,Did you just do that on purpose?" I asked, still chuckling.

"What?"

"That face. I'm pretty sure I've seen that before."

We both giggled in laughter until we found ourselves stuck in holding up more of it.

As soon as we got hold of it,we both sat down by the couch. Today was my day-off,#IndependenceDayForMe.

*beep*

I opened my message box and read the message sent:

'Childhood memories, never gets old. Don't they?

~Anonymous'

Seriously though, who is this? Well, whoever it is,he or she is probably about to make my head burn and waste the entire day of my 'freedom'.

This afternoon I have gown fittings, though too much choices fascinates me! Someone, help me!

"Great! Why don't you just lend me a call or maybe visit here sometime when you made up your mind, would that work?" Lea Sanders, the tailoress made up a solution for me to figure out the right dress to choose.

"I'll sure do take those advices,Lea. They're great help." I courteously thank her and left the shop.

I grab a newspaper to keep me company while waiting for mom to pick me up since she went grocery shopping on her own on the other side of the street.

I accompanied myself and took a seat on one of the coffee shops nearby.

"Kate?" Someone behind confusingly called out my name to make sure it was me.

I turn my head slowly facing the caller. It was Jaime Minor,Bryan's cousin! I forgot she worked here as a barista!

She grabbed herself a seat,we both were now facing each other. I tried acting calm and cool, crossing my fingers, fearing she might suddenly talk about my 'relationship' with Bryan.

"I was suppose to head home at this very moment, you see,my shift is done. But then,I saw you outside and thought,'why not do a little catching up?'. Right?" She started talking.

Both of us talked mostly talked about how we were doing, how's life going on and other stuff to catch up on.

"Jaime,Do you know where Bryan went?" I beated around the bush and asked her directly.

She was silent for a moment, hesitating to speak or somehow thinking of what answer she might give me.

"Oh! Uhh.. Bryan? No. No. Bryan's fine. He's with his family right now,In a vacation in Canada! He's doing fine, don't worry." She answered. Though I could sense something rather weird. If she was telling the truth, why would she be a bit sweaty, hesitate to speak,or speak nervously? It seems as though she knows something others don't,like she knows someting I don't!

But the big question is,'What is it?'

"Canada?" I ask. Bryan never mentioned anything  about going to Canada. If he would be going to Canada with his family, why didn't he say so in the first place? And why would he disappear in a flash if he would just go to Canada? He never left me a message nor a call! It has been a long time! A lot has happened in this town already! And yet where is he now? Canada? Oh great! Now I name Canada 'The Getaway country of the year'.

"Yes. C-Canada. Most of our relatives are there. It is our home country actually." She admitted.

"Oh? When is he coming back?" I ask, noticing the swelling of sweat drolling through her skin.

"I'm not really sure if he is coming back. I heard his family, who owns a successful business is going to hand him the family business." She answered. This time, she was very confident with her answer.

"That's great!" I pretend to be happy about it,and somehow did a pretty good job in acting.

We said our goodbyes and well wishes to each other.

Moments later mom arrived driving her automobile. I told her everything that had happened strating from my fitting to my conversation with Jaime.

Mom listened very well and gave her own opinions about it. She even told me what she would've said if she were me back there.

*sigh* mothers and their weird instincts.. tsk tsk

__________
A lot has happened to the life of Kate and the people around her since Bryan went 'missing.'

In this chapter,Kate reunites with Bryan's cousin,Jaime Minor, and talks things about what was going on. Jaime revealed that Bryan was with his family in Canada, their hometown together with other relatives enjoying their vacation. When asked, when he was coming back,Jaime said he was to claim an inheritance of the family business and take over it for good.

Are all this the real truth behind Bryan's disappearance,or is there still another story behind it?
