Chapter 36:April fools

I woke up to the sound of the birds chirping outdoors,the sky was as beautiful as it was. I fix my bed up,and as I put my pillow in place,I notice it was wet. Wet with tears? Wait,I cried myself to sleep last night? I did!

The morning was as exciting as it always has been. Another day for adventures and new memories to begin. Yet,no matter how amazing it was,It still seemed like a part of it was missing. I sat down on the bed,facing the window,as I sight a baby bird with its mother feeding him. He hugged his mother tightly,full with love. How I wished me and Jay would have been doing that by now. I was getting a bit teary-eyed. I try to wipe it off and stood up before I even get emotional again.

I close the door before me and slowly went down the stairs. I stopped for a while. My footsteps lightly can be heard.

"Shh! Hush! Now! Come! Lets hide! Mommy's coming!" A voice whispered silently. Though it was hard for me to hear what it was trying to say.

"Goo?" A voice of a baby was heard.

I started to speculate things.

Hmm..?

Maybe it was one of mom's friends who came in.

Or maybe..?

My friends?

Or maybe..?

Someone who mistakened our home to theirs?

I tiptoed silently going to where the voices came from. The kitchen.

As I stood at the center.
No one was there.
I found myself in the middle of nowhere.
Silence was heard..

And then..

"Happy April Fools mommy!!!"

Mom,Crissy,Mom's friends,my friends from work,some of our neighbors,all of them were there.

*sigh*

..except for Jay..

My mouth widely opened in surprise. Their faces were all full of glee.
Confettis flew everywhere,landing on the floor.
An 'Happy April Fool's' banner was held by Dr.Vonn and Nurse Rachelle.
A mini chocolate cake was held by mom.

"A little visitor came by to say hello."
Mom says.
Everyone makes way for the center aisle.

It was Jay!!

Gigi carried him in her arms. The boy had a sweet smile on his face. Gigi softly grabs his hands and tries to clap them together.

I  cried in Joy,approached him and swooned him over my arms,Gigi handed him to me.

"W-Where have you been?" I sobbed.

"Oh it was no biggy,he crashed into my place last night."

Turns out it was just a joke that I took seriously!

I totally forgot about April fools!

My heart thumped at the moment. I was worried sick! What if  that happens IRL(In Real Life)??

"W-What is this?"

"You worry too much,Its time for a lil' celebratin'!" Gigi giggled.

*Ding! Dong!*

The doorbell rang just as soon as we didn't expected it. Late comer?

"Hold it right there,no one move. Let me get that." Mom insisted of opening the door. We waited for her,silently. Each of us guessing who it might be in our minds.

A couple of moments later mom came back with a basket of gifts.

"Who are those from?" I asked.

Mom took a closer look.

"I-I don't know!"

"Wait! Hold up! I think theres a card over here. Think it might help."

She handed the card over to me. Evryone else came in closer to take a peek.

I unfolded the envelope,and opened the letter.

'Happy Wedding,Kate!

Miss me? Make sure you send me invites,or you'll be sorry and see me at the last row! Say hi to Akhito's little Jay! Oh wait,Is it Akhito's?

Haha! Don't worry this isn't any of the continuation of your little April Fool's party. See you soon!
