Ch. 1 - True Cross Academy

*Sky's POV*

"Do I have to go?" Me and my Mom were at the front gates of True Cross Academy.

"Yes, you do, and besides, your going to cram school. Not real school." My Mom decided that it would be good if I go to cram school, I don't know why she wanted me to go to school now. I have always been home schooled, and I feel like going to a real school is weird. I looked at her and sighed

"I know but, you always kept me in the dark, always trying to protect me. What made you change your mind now?" she stopped walking, and looked at me.

"I just think it would be good if you got school experience, and make some friends." I looked at her weirdly but nodded, and we kept on walking to the main office. As we were walking to the main office, I couldn't help but, wonder what my Dad was like. Every time I talk to my Mom about it, she would try to find a way to walk away or just change the subject.

My thoughts were interrupted, as I realized that we arrived at the main doors of the office. My Mom opened the door, and all we see is ... A DOG? I stare at the dog and sweat drop. I turn around to see my Mom smirking, and trying to hold in her laughter. I stare at her in confusion as she says

"You can change back into your real form - Mephisto Pheles." Real Form? the dog transforms to a human. Only rare demons have that kind of ability. So, he must be a demon. My Mom smiles and gives Mephisto a hug.

"It's so nice to see you again, Akiko." he looks at me and starts smirking. I stand their looking at them, feeling really awkward.

"Well, what do we have here?" he asked still staring at me.

"This is my daughter Sky, Sky this is Mephisto Pheles head master of True Cross Academy, and childhood best friend of mine." I held out a hand but, instead of shaking my hand, he pulled me into a hug. I sweat drop and hug him back because, I didn't want to be rude. I don't hug a person the first time I meet them. He let's go and Mom continues whats she's saying.

"Anyways, I would like to enroll her in cram school." He smiled and said.

"Very well, you start cram school tomorrow." At first, I was shocked because, I never thought he would say yes so easily. But, I got in - that's what matters. He gave me my schedule, and more details about the school. I thanked him and was about to leave the office but, I noticed that my Mom wasn't following me.

"Mom, aren't you coming?" she looked at me nervously and said

"Just wait outside for me, I need to talk to Mephisto about something." I stared at her suspiciously but, didn't bother saying anything and walked out anyways.

I walked out, and waited outside the office for 10 minutes. What's taking her so long? Ever since my Mom wanted me to enroll in True Cross Academy, she's been acting strange lately. I feel like she's been hiding something from me but, I don't know what it is.

"We can't let that happen." I hear Mom say. What are they talking about? I press my ear against the door.

"She doesn't deserve this kind of life."

"I know but, she's gonna find out sooner or later. " I stare at the door in shock, as thoughts keep running through my head. Are they talking about me? Should I be worried? No, it's probably just nothing. Who am I kidding? Of course it's something. I can't ask my Mom about it, she will do everything she can to hide it from me. I guess I'm gonna have to find out myself. But, where to start?

When I hear my Mom's Footsteps coming towards the door. I back away from the door as fast as I can, and I see my Mom coming out.

"You ready?" I nodded and we started heading home.
