Ch. 26 - Consumed by Darkness pt. 2

*Rin's POV*

I charged towards Mami ready to punch her but she dodged my attack and punched me instead. I ended up flying backwards, ready to fall to the ground but Shiemi's familiar Nee created a cloud for me to fall on.

Shiemi came to my side as I coughed up blood.

"WOW! That felt really good. Maybe I have to knock some sense into you more since you don't listen. You will never get her back. She will be in a deep sleep until the day I die." She laughed and kept on laughing to the point where it hurt so much. I growled at Mami and tried to stand up but I fell to ground.

"You're not going to get away with this. We will stop you."

"Really? Because I did get away with this," Mami came up to me and raised her sword to my neck. "I will not let you ruin our plans Rin, not by a long shot. Now time to die." She raised her sword about to kill me but, Bon stopped her by saying.

"Hold on! Before you punch his ticket, why don't you take us on." Shima and Konekomaru tried to convince him that it was a bad idea but Bon wasn't having it. Mami shrugged it off and said.

"Well suit yourself," Mami raised her sword up nice and high. "KOUKI! Light of destruction." Red lightning came out of the sky and tried to strike Bon but Mr. Tsubaki pushed him out of the way and got hit instead.

"Mr. Tsubaki!" He screamed in pain as the lightning turned into flames. But it wasn't long because Izumo was just reciting the last words of a spell.

"divine sake of the heavens!" Sake splashed on Mr. Tsubaki causing the flames to go out.

"Are you okay Mr. Tusbaki?" Bon was by his side as he sat up.

"Yes I'm okay. Don't worry about me." Shima and Konekomaru stood in front of Bon and said.

"Grant us a symbol to protect us from harm. Spiritual armour!"A shield like symbol appeared in front of them.

"Get away while you still can Bon, we got you covered."

"No!" Bon stood up as Shima and Konekomaru protested. He recited a spell and threw his spear at Mami but she easily stopped the attack.

"Oh how pitiful. STOP PLAYING AROUND. KOUKI! Be consumed by darkness and destroy them all!" Mami was waiting for something to happen but it didn't.

"What the hell? Why isn't it working? It was working just well before." Mami stared at the sword in anger as her mother said.

"Because Kouki isn't yours, it's Sky's sword. It may have been obeying you at first but when kouki realized you weren't his master, he stopped. RIN! Now is your chance, do it now!" I nodded as I charged towards Mami. Mami tried to use kouki again but it was no use. I grabbed her and held her close to me.

"Sky please wake up! I know your tired of fighting but don't let your sister have the satisfaction of winning. You have something worth fighting for - don't give up on that." Mami was trying everything she could to push me away from her but I held onto her tightly.

"What do I have worth fighting for?" I can hear Sky's voice. She's still in there.

"You have your family, your friends, and you have me. Don't give up on us - don't give up on me." I was hoping to hear a response from her but nothing.

"Get off of me! You will never get her back Rin, you should quit while your ahead." Mami repeatedly punched me causing me to cough up blood, but I still didn't give up because if I did, she would to.

*Sky's POV*

I look around to see nothing but white. Where am I? What happened to everyone?

I walk straight hoping to see anything around, but sadly I didn't. I fell to the ground in sadness.

I'm so tired of fighting, I can't take this anymore. What do I have worth fighting for?

"You have your family, your friends, and you have me. Don't give up on us - don't give up on me." I sat up staring at the distance in shock. Who's voice is that? Does he some how know me? He said to not give up on him. Why don't I remember? I tried calling out to the voice but I didn't hear a reply back. I sighed and shook my head.

"Sky!" I look up to see a guy standing in front of me smiling at me. Is this the person who called out to me?

"Who are you?" He stared at me with a hurt expression on his face as he asked. "You really don't remember me?" I shook my head no as I felt really confused. I don't remember having a family, I was always alone - I had no one by my side.

"It's me, Rin. The person you fell in love with," I stared at him, still not comprehending what he was saying. He came up to me and put his hands on my shoulders. "Look into my eyes and you'll know." I felt nothing. He didn't make me feel anything but confusion. He sighed and did something I never thought he would do.

He kissed me.

At first, I didn't move due to the shock I was feeling but then I ended up kissing him back. His arms were wrapped around my waist pulling me close to him, my hands were on his chest pulling him closer to me as much as possible. I don't know why but this felt familiar. It felt good.

Then I remembered. I pushed him away and gasped in shock. How could I have forgotten?

"Rin!" I hugged him and he hugged me back. "Wait. How did you get into my head?"

He shrugged and said.

"I have no idea, but you need to fight the darkness or else you will be consumed by it forever." I nodded as Rin disappeared from my arms.
