Ch. 9 - The Sword That Once Belonged to an Exorcist

*Sky's POV*

After Me and Shiemi were done making up, I went back to my room and fell into a deep slumber. But, little did I know that certain person will be in my dreams tonight.

*Dream*

Everything was pitch black, just like in my last dream. I knew there was no point in trying to find a way out so, I stood there waiting for Katsuo to speak. Then, I hear his demonic laughter, and  I sighed in annoyance. 

"Okay, I get it your here. So, can you stop trying to make a scary introduction?" I say with a little bit of hatred in my voice.

"Wow! someones really annoyed." He laughs even more just by how annoyed I am. I rolled my eyes and ask.

"What do you want Katsuo?"

"Don't play dumb, Sky. You know what I want." I laughed dryly. If he really thinks that I'm going to be Queen, then he's dead wrong.

"I'm not going to be Queen so, you should really stop making me become one." I heard him growl by what I said, and I smirk in triumph.

"This really could have been easier for you Sky, if you cooperated like I hoped. But, sadly I'm gonna have to do this the hard way."

"Why are you after me now, when I don't have my powers yet?" I asked in confusion. I really didn't get the point of all this. He knew that I wasn't suppose to get my powers until I'm 18, and I was only 17.

"Well, someones making sure that  your powers get activated because, this person knows that your the only one who can defeat me." Now I feel more confused than I already did before. Who the hell is trying to activate my powers?

"Who is it?" I ask, curious to know the answer. Then Katsuo starts laughing. I know he's smirking, I can feel, and it just pisses me off.

"Oh, dear sweet Sky. Always in the dark about everything, I'll tell you one thing. This person is someone you just met." An anime vein appeared on my forehead.

"Wow! Thanks that gives me so much." I say in a nice sweet sarcastic tone. I heard him sigh in annoyance.

"Just be glad you got something." I laughed dryly and said.

"Something? That was barely a clue."

"Think about it Sky, I just gave you a big hint and you don't realize it. Anyways, I must go. But know this, I have big plans for you Sky." Then his voice disappears.

*dream over*

I sat up and gasped. I looked around to see that I was in my room, and it was morning. I sighed and got off the bed because, I knew that I wasn't going to fall asleep again. I noticed a note was taped to my bed room door. I grabbed the note off of the door and read it.

Dear Sky,
If you have the time I would like you to meet me in my office. I have a surprise for you. - Mephisto

I wonder what surprise he has in store for me. I dropped the note on my desk, and headed out downstairs to the sinks so I can brush my teeth. While I was on my way downstairs, I couldn't stop thinking about what Katsuo said. 'This person is someone you just met.'

Those words kept on replaying in my head, no matter how much I wanted them to go away. I didn't understand what he said because their was a lot of people that I just met, and I'm pretty sure they don't know that I'm a demon.

If this person wanted to activate my powers, they would have to know that one fact. Just as I was about to turn the corner, my eyes widened when realize who it could be. MEPHISTO! It makes sense, he's the only one who knows that I'm a demon. Well, with the exception of my Mom.

But why him? What does he hope to gain out of this? Wasn't he the one who's suppose to protect me from this, not drag me into it? My thoughts were interrupted as I noticed Izumo by the sinks.

For some reason I was mad at her but, at the same time I wasn't. It's weird how I feel a bunch of different emotions at the same time. I guess that's how my feelings work. I walk up to the sinks, and completely ignoring her presence.

But, that wasn't easy because, I felt like her eyes were lingering onto me. Then I finally turned to face her and said.

"Do you need something?" At first, she looked taken back by what I said but then, she had a distant sadness in her eyes. It was like she wasn't even there. When she finally came back to reality, she realized what I asked her.

"Don't tell anyone about me being afraid, got it?" She had a hard look in her eyes. But, I knew deep down she was breaking inside, just because she didn't save her friend. I look at her with a sympathetic eyes.

"First of all, I was never going to tell anyone about it, and second of all, you shouldn't beat yourself up for this. You were afraid, so what? We all have our moments of being afraid and freezing up like that. I'm sure the next time, you will be brave and strong." She looked at me in shock and then, gave me a small smile. Now it was my turn to look shocked.

Usually she has a smirk or a glare on her face. But this time, she had a genuine smile. I smirk in victory because, I was the only one who could actually make her smile.

"I really hate you but, what you said, somewhat cheered me up." I gave her a weird look. First she tells me that she hates me then, she gives me a nice comment?

"Um Thanks?" I said in question form. I didn't really know if I should thank her or not. After I brushed my teeth, I went back to my room, got dressed, and headed out to go see Mephisto.

I arrived at the doors of the main office, and knocked. I couldn't stop thinking about why Mephisto would want to activate my powers, maybe I should ask him? No, he would never tell me the truth. Mephisto and My Mom have been hiding the fact that I'm a demon for a really long time. I guess I'm going to have to find that out for myself.

"Come in." I hear on the other side of the door. I open the door to see Mephisto doing paper work and drinking tea.

"Hello Sky, I see that you got my letter." He said not even looking up from his paper.

"Yeah, I did. You said that you got a surprise for me." His eyes lit up when I said 'surprise'. He turned around and grabbed something from behind him, and turned around again to reveal a sword case that had a sword inside it.

I stare at the sword. He extended his hand so he can give me the sword, I grab the sword and hold it like it's a thin piece of glass. I take the sword out of it's case, and stare at the sword in amazement.

I hold the sword, and do a somewhat cool stance. Mephisto stares at me the whole time smirking at me. I don't know why I did it but, I ran towards him and gave him a hug.

"Thank you." He was shocked by my sudden actions but, he hugged back.

"Your welcome - Sky." We eventually pulled away from the hug. I was so excited that I got a sword because, I was thinking of becoming a Knight, and now I can. I wonder where he got the sword.

"Where did you get this sword?" I ask, still staring at it amazed.

"Well, I got it from your Mother. She actually used to be an exorcist here at True Cross Academy. When we were little, she would always tell me how much she wanted to become an exorcist. Her dream was to protect people, not hurt them. That was the one thing that I admired most about her." He says with a huge smile on his face. I stare at him in shock, then I have a smirk on my face.

"You like my Mom." As soon as he hears that, he starts blushing like crazy, and I start laughing.

"Whaaaaaaat? No, I - I - don't l-ike your Mom that way." he says with a nervous smile. I stopped laughing and smirked at Mephisto, while crossing my arms.

"Okay then if you don't, then why are you stuttering?" I ask, stating the obvious. He gives me a death glare and says.

"You should get to class now." He mutters, walking away to his desk.

"Oh! Okay." I laugh and walk out of the office, with my sword.
