Ch. 15 - An old friend from the past

*Sky's POV*

"No, I'm here to stop you," He looked at me in disbelief by what I said. Both of them were. "You shouldn't kill innocent people, for your selfish needs." He shook his head and started laughing.

Me and Amaimon both looked at each other confused, what the hell is so funny?

"You will never get it Sky. I'm doing this for you." I rolled my eyes and laughed dryly.

"Your not doing this for me, your doing this for you. Your not doing this for me, your just using me to get what you want."

"Okay, Sky. Believe what you want but, at the end of the day, I know why I'm doing this." Then the next thing you know, I was handcuffed by Amaimon. I look at Katsuo in shock, and try to break free of the handcuffs with my powers but, it wasn't working.

"You struggling won't help, those handcuffs cut off your power completely. Once they come off, then you powers will come back - when I need them," I stare at him in anger and disbelief, as he smirks at me. "Take her to the cell." Amaimon turned me around and we walked out of his office. I knew there was no point in struggling. So, I didn't.

While we were walking to the cell, I wanted to ask him something. So, I did.

"What did you mean by, me being your bride?" I waited for his answer but, he didn't say anything.

"Amaimon - please talk to me."

"We were best friends years ago. During that time, I fell in love with you and I wanted nothing more than to marry you. Your father agreed, that I would be the man that marries you." Wait! What? I thought that I left when I was a baby?

He must have sensed that I was confused because, then he said.

"I lied about the year because, your not suppose to remember anything about Gehenna." I sighed in frustration. Why can't they tell me the truth?

"Why didn't you just tell me the truth? It's not like the truth will kill me."

"I know but, the truth will cause you pain." I rolled my eyes at the thought of them thinking that I can't handle this.

"I can take the truth. Now, stop looking at me like I'm shattered glass." I say getting even more frustrated, and he laughs softly. How could he be laughing at a time like this?

"I know you Sky, and you can't handle this." I was about to say something but, I felt Amaimon let go of me and fall on the floor with a slam. I turned around and looked at Amaimon's body alarmed.

"Amaimon! Are you okay?Amaimon!" I say sitting on the floor, and trying to wake him up. But then, a girl appeared in front of me. She broke off the handcuffs.

"Come on! Let's get out of here." She said lending out a hand, but I refused to take it.

"Who are you? And why should I even go with you? How do I know I can trust you?" I say questioning her.

"I will explain who I am later, and you can trust me because I'm an old friend. And I promise you, that I will help you find the truth. Now, come on! We don't have much time before he wakes up." I nodded and took her hand. She helped me up, and we started running out of the castle.

Once we escaped the castle, we stopped at a near by broken tree. I put my hand on the broken tree, trying to catch my breath.

"You didn't answer my question. Who are you? And how do I know I can trust
you?" I say finally being able to talk.

"My name is Akane Victoria, and I was your best friend years ago. My Mother and your Mother were friends," I sat beside her on the ground and kept on listening. "When you left, I was lonely. I had no one. I spent years trying to survive on my own. Your Father used to be a leader - now he's a monster. He uses people to get what he wants. He doing more harm than good."

"What happened to your parents?" I say heart broken, and not caring about my Father. I can't believe she went through this on her own.

"They died not long after you left." She said looking at the ground, like it's so interesting.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that," then out of anger, I punched the tree. Akane jumped at the sound of me hitting the tree. "Why can't I remember anything!" I yell out of frustration, and she looks at me with a sympathetic look in her eyes.

"Because, aunt Eda took away your memories. Your Mother didn't want you to remember this place."

"What happened to aunt Eda?" She gave me a nervous smile and scratched the back of her neck. I looked at her in shock. No - she can't be.

"Akane, where. Is. Aunt Eda?"

"She died, somebody killed her right before you left. She died protecting you." Tears stream down my face, as I put my hand over my mouth.

"You know, you shouldn't be crying," I looked at her in disbelief. "Do you not have feelings at all? She DIED protecting me. It's all MY FAULT," then she laughed, like it's the funniest thing in the world. "Okay, let's get one thing straight. It's not your fault that she died protecting you. It was her choice. She was the kind of person, who puts others first before herself. So, shut up about it because, I'm sure as hell that it's not your fault." I stared at her the whole time, shocked by what she said. Then I clutch my head in pain.

"Sky, hey! Are you okay?" She came by my side and comforted me, and then I blacked out.

*flashback(third POV)*

"SKY!" A four year old girl, ran up to Sky, and gave her a hug.

"AKANE!" the two girls laughed and played together. They were two peas in a pod. 

While Sky and Akane were playing, Akane, gave Sky a hug again and said

"Promise me you won't leave me. Promise me we'll be best friends forever." Four year old Sky, was shocked by what Akane said. But, smiled, and hugged her back.

"I promise, we'll stay together forever." And they stayed in that position for as long as I can remember.

They would tell each other anything. They were more like sisters, then friends. But, that ended when Sky's Mother, Akiko took Sky to the human world. And that was the last time that Akane saw Sky.

*Flashback over*

"Hey, Sky! Wake up!" I opened my eyes
to see Akane looking at me worried.

"Thank god your okay. What the hell happened?"I don't say anything, and I stare at her with my eyes widen. She looks at me confused. "Umm, Sky? Are you there? Say something?" The only thing I can say now is.

"I remember."
