Ch. 23 - The pieces coming together pt. 2

*Sky's POV*

"You two were in love?" Mami looked at me with sadness in her eyes and nodded. She lost so much because of me. She suffered while I was living the better life. Wait! She said something about the fate of the blood twins.

"Wait! You made promise to Amaimon right?" She looked at me and nodded like I was stupid "You mentioned something about the fate of the blood twins, what is it?" She smirked and looked at me in victory.

"Remember when mother used to tell us that bed time story?" I nodded suddenly remembering the story.

"Yeah, I do. It was about how two twins were born, One of them was human while the other was a demon. Mother said that if one of the twins dies their spirit lives on forever. She also said that it was super rare for a mother to be having twins, but it happens." Mami chuckled and nodded her head slowly like I was missing something.

"Yes you are right Sky but, she left out a huge part of the story," I sighed and shook my head, annoyed. I'm not really surprised that my Mother left out huge details of the story, well I guess it's because she didn't tell me that I was a demon. "What she failed to mention was that when one of the twins dies their spirit lives on into the next twin. Then that twin has the ability to take over their other twins body and make it their own."

My eyes widened suddenly realizing why she made that promise. She knew that she was going to come back, and she was going to use me to do it. But why hasn't she done it already?

"If you were going to take over my body, why haven't you done it yet?" I asked confused, what was she waiting for.

"I'm waiting until your birthday because as you already know, on your 18th birthday you turn into a demon. At that moment through you transformation, you will be very vulnerable which will make it really easy for me to take over you body." I glared at her and she grinned at me and looked at her arm and said.

"Well would you look at the time, you should be getting back before those two rip each other apart." I raised my hand in front of her to stop her from doing anything but it was too late.

The next thing I see is Akane on top on Amaimon trying to get answers from him. I was about to say something when Akane spoke.

"You knew all along that Sky would no longer exist. Does your friendship with Sky mean nothing to you? We were all best friends in past, what happened to that bond?" Dark shadows cast under Amaimon eyes as he says.

"But you see Akane, that was the past. So yes Akane, the past means nothing to me." I stood up from the ground and looked at them with a hurt expression on my face, suddenly remembering all the times that we spent together. Ever since I came back to Gehenna, I have been remembering the past of my childhood.

"I see so that's how you really feel?" They both looked back and stared at me. Akane looked at me in shock while Amaimon looked at me with no emotion whatsoever.

Akane was about to say something but, Akane was knocked out by Amaimon's strong punch. she flew backwards into the church doors and became unconscious.

"Akane!" I tried gong towards her but Amaimon blocked my way. He smiled at me while I glared at him, I really did not want to deal with him right now. All this time he was using me, just like everyone else, and that really pissed me off.

"Amaimon, get out of my way." He knew that I wasn't in the mood and stood there not moving.

"No can do my beautiful bride. Now come on, don't make this any more difficult then it has to be." He exended his hand out to me but I pulled out my sword and charged towards him.

Before I was about to strike him, he grabbed my sword with his bare hand. I stared at him in shock but shook the feeling off. I wasn't going to give up that easily.

"KOUKI! Light beams." He backed away as purple beams of light shot towards him. He dodged each and every one of them coming closer to me. I tried backing away as fast as I could, but it was too late he had me in his grasps.

before he even did anything else, he whispered.

"You may be the strongest demon out of all of us but if you don't know how to use that strength of yours, it can be a great disadvantage." Then I was out like a light.

*Amaimon's POV*

I carried her bridal style, headed out of the church and straight to the castle.

No one is going to get in the way of my plan. I have waited years to have my Mami back in my arms again, and I'm not about to wait any longer.

I arrived at the castle and the front doors opened for me automatically. The maid of the house bowed and said.

"The Master is expecting you in his study." I nodded and continued walking. The maid lifted her head up and saw that I had Sky in my arms. At first she looked worried but then she shook that off.

I went to the Masters study and said

"I got her back. Just like you asked." Katsuo chuckled and nodded his head in approval.

"Good, lock her up in the cell. I will make sure that the maid will keep an eye on her. Don't forget that the wedding will be in Assiah instead of Gehenna." I looked at him in confusion and asked

"Why is that?" I didn't get why the wedding had to be in Assiah.

"Because it will be easier for Sky to open the gate between Assiah and Gehenna so that all of the demons will invade Assiah. Now, put Sky in her cell. We don't want her escaping and ruining our big day." I nodded and was about to leave but the maid of the castle peeked her head through the door and said.

"Master Katsuo, I apologize interrupting your conversation but their is a guest hear waiting for you. Shall I send him up?"

"Yes, you may." He smirked, chuckled, and waited for his guest to arrive. I couldn't tell the expression he was trying to give. He was happy? He was satisfied? I don't know you can never read what Mami's father has in mind.

The door opens. We both turn around to see him standing there, smirking at both of us with triumph.

"It's been a long time my friend." Katsuo laughed walking over to him and gave him a pat on the shoulder.

"Indeed it has." He said laughing along with him.

"Amaimon, leave us and put Sky in her cell. Me and my friend have a lot of catching up to do." I nodded and walked out that door - leaving Satan and Katsuo to talk.
