Ch. 3 - Can We Be Friends?

*Sky's POV*

I stood in front of my house, looking at it for the last time, before I went to the car. I couldn't stop thinking about what my Mom said. It kept me up for most of the night so, I didn't get much sleep. I wanted to say something to her but, I didn't have the words to speak.

"You ready?" I noticed that my Mom was standing by the door. I nodded, and grabbed my stuff and started loading the car. Once we were done loading the car, we headed straight towards the academy.

In the car, we sat in complete silence. It was so silent, you can hear the car motor running loudly. My Mom sighed and said.

"You haven't said a word to me, since our talk yesterday." I finally looked at her, and laughed dryly.

"Well, it's not everyday, you find out that you a demon."

" I'm sorry that I didn't tell you sooner, I just didn't want you to deal with this right now." I rolled my eyes but, nodded.

" I'm not mad, I'm just shocked about it." I noticed that we arrived at the front gates. Me and my Mom got out of the car, and got my stuff out.

"Well, this is it." She pulled me into a hug, and I hugged her back. Even though I'm upset with her, I'm still gonna miss her a lot.

" I'm gonna miss you, honey."

" I'm gonna miss you too, Mom." A tear slowly streams down my face. I don't know how I'm going to fit in at this school, It feels weird being away from my Mom for a while.

My Mom finally let go, and wiped the tear that was running down my face. She gave me a small smile.

"Your going to be fine, don't worry." I started walking towards the gates, when I stopped myself and realized that I needed to ask her something or else, I will never be able to. My Mom noticed this and asked.

"What is it honey?" She gave me a concerned look in her eyes.

"Can I ask you something?" She nodded, encouraging me to continue.

"Can you tell me his name? I - I really want to know."

" His name is Katsuo. " I nodded and waved one last goodbye, and walked away.

I. Was. Lost. I was completely lost trying to find my dorm room. This school is like a giant maze. I stood in front of a door, and took a deep breath. Okay! this has to be my dorm room. I opened the door

As soon as I opened the door - I saw a sight that I'll never be able to unsee. I stared at the couple with a horrified expression on my face. The couple didn't see me standing by the door so, I slowly walked out and closed the door behind me.

Okay! Moving on. I was walking down the hallway but stooped, when I saw Mephisto in his demon form staring at me.

" Hey, Mephisto."

"Hey, Sky aren't you suppose to be at your dorm?" Oh! So he can talk. I thought that since he was in demon form, he wasn't able to speak.

" I can't find it, I spent an hour trying to." I sighed in frustration and took out the paper that had my dorm number on it, and gave it to Mephisto. He read the number and said.

" Very well, follow me." And that's exactly what I did.

" Your Mom told me about the conversation that you guys had the other day." To be honest, I really didn't want to talk about the whole 'demon thing' but, I guess I have no choice.

"Yeah, so what about it?" I asked.

"You do realize that you can't tell anyone that your a demon, right?"

"Yeah, I know. I'm not just going to go up to someone and say 'Hi, I'm Sky Nightingale, and I'm a demon nice to meet you' . " He laughed, and we appeared in the boy's dorm building but, this building looked old. I stare down at him and sweat dropped.

"You know I'm a girl, right?"

"Yeah, I know. " An anime vein appears on my forehead.

"Okay! If you know, then why are we at the BOYS DORMS!" I yell making a fist, ready to punch him

"Well you came late, and since you did, all the girls dorms are full. So, I had no choice but to put you here. You will be living with two other boys, Rin Okumura, and Yukio Okumura." I nodded, understanding the situation. We went inside, and went to my room.

" Well, here's your room." I thanked him but before I went inside, he gave me directions to my classes so, I don't get lost. I grabbed my stuff and put it inside. I was about to start packing but when I looked at my classes, I realized that one of them starts in 20 minutes. I quickly grabbed my school papers, and rushed out the door.

I Managed to find a way to my class. I was about to turn a corner but, I bumped into someone before I could.

"OMG! I'm sorry." We both bent down to pick up my papers that I dropped.

"I'm sorry - so sorry." She kept on apologizing as we were picking up the papers.

"You don't have to apologize, it was my fault, I wasn't looking." She gathered all the papers, and gave them to me. I thanked her and then I thought, this is my chance to make a friend. I looked at her, smiled, and pulled out my hand.

"Hi, I'm Sky Nightingale." She shook my hand and said.

"Hi, I'm Shiemi Moriyama, nice to meet you." I nodded and let go of her hand. She looked like she wanted to say something but, was hesitant. Then she finally said it

"Are we friends? I mean - can we be friends?" I stared at her, surprised. I don't think a person asks others that question. Maybe, she's new at making friends just like me.

"Yeah well, that's if you want to become friends?" She squealed and nodded. Shiemi pulled me into a hug while, jumping up and down. We pulled out our schedules, and realized that we have the same classes together. Then we started walking to class.
