Day 5
I'm going to take it easy today. Hopefully do some searches for a new job, nothing super big. Just another small business.
I was thinking about emailing Skipper, explaining my MPD and asking for my job back, but it's probably too late.
It would really just be easier to turn to McDonalds or something...
It all kinda sucks. It's suffocating, really.
All these thoughts going through my head...
I'm going to the park.
-Jordan Maron
I slammed the journal shut, throwing down the pen. My frustration about this whole situation is beginning to build, becoming too heavy for me to carry.
I want to work, but I can't keep a job.
I want to meet new people, but I'm afraid I'll only drive them away.
I want to be normal, but my MPD is ruining it.
"Be careful with yourself. Don't get discouraged."
I sighed, grabbing my keys off my desk, before exiting my apartment. Maybe if I take a break, life become clearer to me. Maybe I'll figure out what to do.
"Jordan!"
I turned my head toward the British boy, walking a furry fluffball.
"Hey Tom," I greeted.
"Long time no see... Are you not at the Dine At Night anymore? I haven't seen you there recently," Tom mumbled.
"Um, yeah... I had to quit, wasn't working out, ya know?" I mumbled, rubbing the back of my neck awkwardly.
"Yeah, totally. I recently quit my part time job to focus on Twitch streaming. It's fun, and it helps pay for student loans... Pays way more than my old job would've," Tom rambled.
"What's a 'Twitch'?" I asked.
"You've never heard of Twitch?" Tom asked, his brown eyes wide.
"No..."
"What are you doing right now?"
"Nothing, why?"
"Cause I'm gonna teach you how to Twitch stream."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"And now we're live," Tom explained, our faces popping up on his screen.
I looked down at the chat, random text appearing.
"That's chat, they're other people watching right now. Say hi to Jordan, chat!" Tom smiled into his webcam as many messages greeted me.
"H-Hi chat..." I mumbled. "So now what?"
"You play a video game, and talk about it."
"That's it?"
"Yeah, it's fun. You could talk about the game, random stuff, talk to the chat. Anything that's entertaining I guess," Tom said, switching over to a video game. "It's still recording, but now chat can watch me play, and they can still see us because of the webcam."
"Okay," I whispered, trying to understand it all. "You get payed for this?"
"Yeah, cause there are some awesome people who support the channel by either subscribing or donating on Patreon," he said, now focused on his game. "I upload every stream to YouTube after it's done, so the viewers who missed the stream can still watch. I'll help you with your own setup sometime."
"Sweet."
I looked over at Tom, his shoulders hunched, as he made comments about the game he was playing every once and a while.
He's going to be the person.
He's going to be the person I tell. He'll be the true friend who understands.
I'll be able to tell Tom about my MPD.
But not yet...
