HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO LISTEN TO THE ATTACHED SONG. IT'S A REL FLUFFY CHAPTER.
Josh entered the break room, looking to get Devon's afternoon coffee.
But instead, he found something else.
"Yes the art teacher. She's got such a mouth on her." Two of the teachers, Josh noticed them as the kindergarten teachers, were gossiping in the break room.
"The other day, I was walking in behind her, and she actually pushed the door shut instead of holding it open." One of them explained.
"Maybe she didn't see you," Josh suggested.
The one teacher gave him a look. "What?"
"Maybe she didn't see you. You're assuming she's a completely mean person without even knowing her side of the story." Josh defended Devon.
"You weren't even there. What would you know about?" The teacher tested.
"I'm not saying I know anything about the situation, but I know stuff about Miss Taylor. You're assuming things about somebody that you know nothing about. You know nothing about her home life or things like that. There's a reason to why she acts and you're just basing it off of what, two words you've said to her? One thing she's done to you?" Josh pressed.
"How would you know anything about her? She doesn't talk to anybody unless it's to make a smart ass comment." They argued.
"That's because nobody takes the time to know her. Just like if nobody took the time to know you, they would think that you're a judgmental asshole." Josh remarked. He was becoming angry because these two women were judging Devon.
The two scoffed and left.
Josh started the coffee maker, slamming the lid shut. He let out a heavy sigh, still frustrated.
Once he got the drink for Devon, he went back to her classroom. She had a class in session, but Josh was going to interrupt.
"My mommy got mad at me for drawing on the walls." A little boy said. Devon had them sitting down while she spoke.
"That's because drawing is for paper." Devon explained.
After placing her coffee on her desk, Josh casually stood next to Devon, a mischievous smile on his face.
"So Miss Devon," Josh put his arm over her shoulders. "How's class today?"
"Currently being interrupted," she turned and faced him. "By a very touchy teacher." She brushed his hand
off of her shoulder.Josh looked at Devon, a broad smile on his face.
"So we're gonna make necklaces out of macaroni noodles today. You can make it for whoever you want. Yourself, your mom or dad, anybody." Devon described to the class.
"So that means I can make one for you?" Josh asked her.
Devon rolled her eyes. "Mr. Dun here has a class in," she looked down at her wrist watch. "Ten minutes?" She joked.
The kids giggled at the two teachers' banter. Devon watched as a group of girls started whispering and giggling to each other. One of them shyly raised their hand.
"Yes?" Devon answered when she saw the hand.
"Um," the little girl said in a small voice. "Are you and Mr. Dun boyfriend and girlfriend?"
Devon and Josh spoke at the same time.
"No." Devon said.
"Yes." Josh responded.
