yO I performed at an open mic last night.
It was really fun and I played the judge and the only exception and I wish I had a better picture.

When Devon found her parking spot in the teacher parking of the school, she pulled the keys out and sighed. She reached up and opened the sun visor, looking at herself in the mirror. Her eyes were red and puffy, her cheeks tear stained.
"Dammit," she whispered and she reached into her purse and searched for her pack of cigarettes. Once she found it, she pulled one out and put it between her lips, lighting it with her green lighter. As she sucked in the toxic fumes, she admired how it made her throat burn. It reminded her that she was able to feel something other than the pain that came from her mothers life drawling to an end.
She rolled her window down a bit and blew the smoke out, then leaning her head on the head rest attached to the back seat as she closed her eyes. She drew in another breath of toxins, holding it in as long as possible to preserve the feeling it gave her.
Then there was a knock on her window.
She flinched when she heard it, but quickly put her cigarette out in the cup holder that she converted into an ash tray. She held the switch down and opened her window, waving the last of the smoke out of the car, seeing as smoking was prohibited on school property.
"What the hell do you want?" She asked Josh, who stood outside of her window.
"I wanna know why you're smoking on school property." Josh teased.
"I don't wanna talk to you right now." She told him as she grabbed her bag and opened her door, joining Josh.
"You never wanna talk to me," he pushed. He noticed how her eyes were bloodshot and puffy, and how her voice was scratchy. It seemed as if she hadn't gotten any sleep.
"Because you look like a fucking genetic defect," she insulted him as she walked towards the school entrance.
Rather than taking offense, Josh caught up with her. "Are you okay? You seem a little out of it."
"I'm fine," she tugged her bag over her shoulder. "Totally fine." She told him a quiet tone.
"No you're not," he said. "Since when do you smoke?"
"Whenever I feel like it, jackass." The truth was, she only smoked when she was extremely sad. Her habits increased after her mother was diagnosed, but she definitely wasn't hooked. She could go days with smoking. She was also well aware that it was detrimental to her health.
