"Dev," Josh called in a groggy voice as he leaned over Devon. It was nearly noon, and Josh had been waiting for her to wake up. "You gotta get up."
"Get the hell off of me." Devon pushed him and turned to her other side.
"We need to get ready," Josh told her. "My mom is expecting us."
"Stop talking before I strangle you with this pillow." Devon said, her voice muffled by the blanket that was throw over her face.
"Dev you fell asleep at like nine last night," Josh reminded her. "You need to get up. You've been out for like, fourteen hours."
"Shut. The. Hell. Up." Devon told him, each word one by one.
Josh began pushing her patience by pulling the blanket from her.
"What the hell did I just say?!" Devon snatched the blanket back and slammed her hand on his chest, pushing him off the bed. "My kindergarteners listen better than you."
"Jesus Christ," Josh groaned as he fell to the floor, landing on his stomach. "I knew you weren't a morning person, but dang," he was trying to catch his breath. "You just knocked the wind out of me."
"Say one more word and I will knock you out." Devon threatened.

Devon sat in her mother's old bedroom, her thumbs twiddling together. She glanced around, her eyebrows narrowing together.
She was thinking about converted her mother's old master bedroom into a room for her and Josh, and then Devon's old room into a nursery.
However, she never got the permission from her mother, and she did not want her to disapprove.
She got up from the bed and opened the old closet, looking at the various dresses. Some she recognized as dresses used for church ( the ones she remembered tugging on as a child ).
There was a maroon colored one hanging in the back that she had only seen once.
At her father's funeral when she was five.
She took it off the rack and examined it, holding it up to her frame. Instead of hanging it back up, she took it back to her room and laid it on her bed. Then, she joined Josh, who was getting ready in the bathroom.
"I found something to wear," she told him. "So we can leave as soon as I'm ready."
"What is it?" Josh asked as he moved to the side, letting her get into the mirror.
"One of my mom's old dresses," She replied as she began pulling contents from her makeup bag. "I found it in her closet."
"That'll look nice," Josh replied as he put his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder. "You're gonna look great in your dress."
"Let me brush my teeth so that I can actually kiss you," Devon gently pulled his arms from her waist. "Your breath is disgusting and my lips aren't going on yours until you do that same."
"Do you need help?" Josh asked as he straightened out his collar.
"Yeah, just," Devon turned her back to him. "Zip it up? Without breaking it?"
