A stop sign loomed over me and I slammed on the brakes. I had been daydreaming, I'd have to watch that. I was driving to a small gig in Thunder Bay, and since I wasn't officially on tour, I'd decided to drive to Thunder Bay in my car so I could enjoy the scenery, and the rest of the band would take the tour bus. I felt like I needed some time away from the anyway, because when I was with them too long we tended to bicker, and we needed to be in our best moods for concerts because our moods reflect in our music.

I pulled in at my hotel. I was staying in a hotel because I wasn't that popular, especially in Canada, so hopefully I wouldn't be mobbed. If I was unlucky I had my security guard on speed dial.

I got out of my car, and walked into the hotel. When I checked in at the front desk the woman didn't seem to know who I was, which relieved me.

When I reached my room, I swiped my key card and opened the door.

It was a small room with a king sized bed in one corner, a desk with a coffee maker, cups, bottled water, a phone book and a cup of pens on it in the other, a small bathroom and a T.V.

I plunked my bag down on the floor and changed into some sweatpants and a t-shirt.

I pulled out my laptop and my earphones, plopping down on my bed. I continued on the keyboard and guitar song I'd been fiddling with the night before, and then added some lyrics to the song I'd been writing. I tried singing the lyrics with the keyboard/guitar music, but it didn't sound quite right. I was about to fiddle with it to make it sound better, but my stomach growled loudly, and I realized how hungry I was. I flipped through the phone book and found a pizza joint.

"Hello, Ed's pizzeria," the man said when he picked up "what can I get you today?"

"Um," I replied. "Can I have one medium sized pizza with peppers, mushrooms and extra cheese to-" I checked the hotels address "-the Days Inn on Arthur street, room 201,"

"Yep. Alright, that'll take about 45 minutes to half an hour, we'll get there as fast as we can,"

"Thank you," I said.

I waited for half an hour, and almost had to resort to eating the little packets of coffee the hotel supplied, but thank The Lord there was a knock at the door.

I answered and paid the man a twenty, and he handed me my pizza. The heavenly aroma of pizza wafted up to meet my nose, and my mouth began to water.

The man walked away, dodging around a tall girl with dark blonde hair.

She didn't seem to notice though, because she was staring at me.

Oh no, a crazed fangirl.

But she didn't scream, she didn't jump up and down, she just stared, an awed look on her face

Finally she said: "y-you're Adam Young,"

I nodded, desperately wanting to dig into my pizza, but it would be rude to just slam the door on her face.

"Uh...do you want to come and have pizza with me?" I asked, gesturing to my pizza box.

Her eyes widened, an out of it look on her face. I hoped she didn't think I was being a creep.

She looked behind her to see if perhaps someone else standing there that I was talking to.

"M-me?" She squeaked.

I laughed.

"I mean, if you want...you don't...have to,"

She took one more look at me, and then the awed look on her face disappeared, replaced with a mature calm one.

"Yes, thank you," she said, her voice still one octave higher than normal.

"Just let me put my stuff in my room,"

She did, and then turned to back to me.

"Cloe," she said sticking out her hand.

"Cloe Kinsetti,"

"Adam Young," I laughed.

"Erm..." She held out a Robins Donuts box.

"Would you like a donut?"

<>let me out of this cavern, or I'll cave in<>
