When I woke up on Monday morning (my boss had given me Monday off too, since I was so tired from the concert) I looked at the clock and my mouth fell open.

12:15

No wonder i was so hungry; I'd slept until lunchtime!

I got up made myself (a huge) breakfast that consisted of eggs, bacon, toast, cereal and a cup of hot coffee.

After consuming this enormous meal, I sat there for a while, thinking about my late night conversation with Adam. Wow. How had he known I'd been awake? Maybe he hadn't?

Suddenly my phone started ringing and my heart leapt.

Maybe it was Adam!!

I picked it up.

Oh.

Charlie Burns. Charlie was one of my good friends from college. I'd met him there and we'd been pals ever since.

"hi" Charlie said.

"hi Charlie," I replied.

"well uh...I was wondering if you maybe wanted to...um..." He started but then drifted off.

"yes? What?"

"uh...gotothecoffeshopwithmeandmaybegetcoffeeyouknow?" He said quickly.

I didn't say anything.

"I mean *gulp* maybe get coffee with me sometime?"

Was he asking me out?

"uh, sure that would be nice. When were you thinking?" I replied.

"um, maybe today, if you're not busy?" he replied.

"no, I'm not busy," i said. "What time?"

"how about 3 ish?" he said

"sure."

"at the Starbucks on Paved av." "ok," I replied

"see you soon," he said.

"yep. Bye,"

"bye,"

That was weird. Charlie had never displayed any affectionate feelings towards me before. And well...I didn't like him. Well, as a friend, but not in any other way!

Well, I had a date with him now.

Time to get ready.
