I ran my hand through my dark hair. Yet again I felt as if I was more tired than I had ever been in my life, but sleep eluded me.
Really, I should have been used to insomnia by then, but the night before had set me off.
It was just that so many thoughts were running through my mind, so many I thought my head would burst.
I threw my pillow across the room, and it narrowly missed my laptop standing open on the desk.
That was better.
Wait no, it wasn't.
I walked across the room and retrieved my pillow and my computer.
After adding a few finishing touches to my song, I decided it was finished. But I still couldn't record it.
I saved the file, put my laptop on my bag and let my head fall back on my pillow.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door. I checked the clock. 2:00 am. Who would be knocking at 2 in the morning?
A walked over to the door and opened it-and there stood Cloe. She was dressed in long green and pink pyjama bottoms and a pink t-shirt. She was wrapped in a purple housecoat.
"I knew you would be awake," she whispered.
"Come in," I smiled. For some reason seeing her was comforting.
She stepped in, and I closed the door behind her.
"I couldn't sleep," she said.
"Well I was like a log," I said sarcastically.
I sat down on my bed, and she sat beside me.
"So..." She said. "Are we...friends?"
I laughed.
"Well...I guess,"
"That's awesome!"
I laughed again.
It was silent for a moment.
"Want to go for a walk?" I asked. "I drove past a park on my drive here,"
"Sure," she said. "But are we even allowed to be in a park at 2 in the morning?"
"Who knows?"
She smiled.
"Okay, but first I'm getting dressed. Meet me outside the hotel in 5,"
