I was sitting at Adams kitchen table reading one of my favorite books, Shiver by Maggie Steifvater.
Adam had gone out to get groceries because apparently eggs and butter weren't sufficient food to keep two human beings alive.
I heard the door open and I smiled to myself. Adam walked into the room carrying several large bags full of food items.
"Thanks for not helping me carry these," he said, piling them onto the table.
"Hey! you wouldn't even let me come with you to the store!" I retorted jokingly.
"So anyway, i've been thinking," he started grabbing boxes of macaroni and putting them in the cupboard. "now that we're boyfriend and girlfriend isn't it time we had a date?"
"Go on..." I smiled brushing the ends of some strands of hair against my cheek.
"I have a surprise for you,"

"Open your eyes," Adam said an hour later.
After he had told me about our date he had told me to put on something comfortable, and a my warm clothes, like ski pants and a jacket, and then after we had gotten in the car and he had told me to close my eyes.
I opened them and they were greeted with a beautiful sight.
It was a forest. snow blanketed everything and it sparkled like crystals.
A single line of footprints lead forward on a path so skinny it looked like only deer might use it.
Adam grabbed my hand and pulled me forward.
We stepped through the tree line and I was greeted with another amazing sight.
A gazebo. The floor was an octagon shape, a pole came up from every corner and a umbrella-ish roof covered the whole thing.
He pulled me closer and I saw that the whole roof was bordered with fairy lights. A blanket lay on the floor, and two comfortable looking chairs.
"Wow," I said. "it's beautiful,"
"It is in every season," Adam revealed. "I come here to write songs sometimes,"
He sat down in a chair and I did the same.
And we just sat there staring at each other for a while. A long, long while.
I tried to disappear
He began
But you're the only reason I'm floatin' here
Eyes
painted crystal clear
I can see our future through the atmosphere
Don't you go
No don't you go
Don't you know I'm up here alone
Now I am like a satellite
Sending you a signal tonight
I started singing along
Oh oh oh like a streak of light
Oh oh oh watch the world fly by
Oh oh oh rev your engine up
Everybody's racin' at the speed of love
You
were so hard to find
With oh so many clouds across my summer sky
You
My constellation prize
Yeah every single star in sparklin' in your eyes
So don't you go
No don't you go
Don't you know I'm up here alone
So high
Like a satellite
Sending you a signal tonight.
Oh oh oh like a streak of light
Oh oh oh watch the world fly by
Oh oh oh rev your engine up-
And then we couldn't sing because we were kissing.
